Together. It moves out but not in. It did that before but I cleaned contacts and it moved both directions earlier. I'll troubleshoot it tomorrow. I know it moved both directions earlier or I wouldn't have started painting. The jumper pack is low, so maybe it needs to charge.
I'll read up on how to direct jumper the motor if a charged up jumper pack doesn't do it. I jumpered the switch to make sure that wasn't it. I get movement going out, the solenoids click instead of it going in.
Since I had it working before I took it apart it's likely user error or a failing solenoid. To late tonight to troubleshoot.
Same issue this morning with a full battery. I'll check resistances on the solenoids to test those and jumper the motor today if its gets to that.
If it's not a solenoid I may need to take the motor back apart and check the terminals inside. It didn't look bad when I was in there and the brushes were fine.
My bet is a faulty solenoid. I found this handy reference so I know where to look first. Something with 1 or 3.
Found the solenoid. #3 in the photo above. It clicks to close some times, not other times. That's why it worked for a while then stopped after painting. Easy fix once I get the part. The other number 1 is not original either. Made in Mexico and the others say USA. It could be a cheap replacement so I'll buy a pair.
The stickers are different than the original. My serial number is on the back. So I just left that piece in. The Warn label needs cleaning and new adhesive. It's hanging by a thread in the photo.
Almost done. I need to take the bumper loose to get the back bolts in. And route cables to the battery. It's tight. I may unspool to remove a section and make my own soft shackles.
It cost more than I thought but doesn't everything. I learned a ton and like what I got in the end. Now I know everything about my winch.
I don't see a big change in my rake so HD OME springs and synthetic worked. I love the safety thimble and fairlead storage. Worth every penny over cable and hook.
I soaked them in mineral spirits to get the old grease to disolve. I used an old toothbrush to work it in and get stuff off. Then let it dry to see where I was.
