Aaron's Yellow Submarine

Another successful Rausch trip. This was my first time wheeling in the snow, what an experience. In certain areas there was 6-8" of snow. I did notice some spring binding/popping over certain obstacles during flex, I'm wondering if that is normal. A antirock sway bar is on the list. I added a savvy engine skid, rancho 5000x shocks, and a new steering stabilizer since my last update.

Savvy engine skid and new to me full doors. The wind noise reduction is worth the mismatched colors. Truth be told I don't hate the silver. I plan to use some tax return money to get them painted. The Rancho shocks improved the ride quality but I think my springs are tired too and there's a definite sag. I've been looking at the 3.5" metalcloak dual rate springs and maybe a 0.25-0.5" spacer for up front.

So I spent my Biden bucks on some maintenance items. My transmission was leaking out the front and leave a few drops every time I parked. I also noticed the pan was leaking around the gasket too, PLUS, on my way home from Rausch I noticed a vibration at around 65mph. Turns out front driveshaft u-joints are toast and driver side axle joint was gone. I also picked some of Mr Blaines magic control arm centering washers in the likely hood I'll be installing my control arms soon. I also joined the (mostly) color match headlight bezel club this weekend.
-All transmission seals/gaskets replaced plus new filter
-Spicer 1310 U-joints on both axles
-Tom Woods front driveshaft ordered

Is there a story behind the chapstick @mrblaine ? My wife says thank you

We have included a variety of items with orders over the years. The #1 item talked about is the lip balm. It always seems to be the favorite.

I have only had the Jeep at Rausch. How are the Ohio trails?
Is a good blend from mild to wild. Like Raush but for free. With a good trail leader tha knows the way around is a blast. Our club going May 2, I’m not sure if my LJ will be back in the road but I can hook you up with other fellows so you can start know the area.

No major updates. I have a lot of parts waiting to go on, I'm graduating with my masters May 7.
Waiting to go on
-Adams front driveshaft
-savvy MML
-savvy 1.25 BL
-savvy dbl adjustable control arm set
-crown HD steering

Recently I removed my Pennsylvania inspection flare for some nice stock ones I resprayed and added smoked turns.
***PSA*** if you get the cheap flat flares from quadratec like i did, DO NOT use the provided hardware. I have to cut most of the bolt heads off because of rust and they're less than a year old.

I had an unexpected repair this past weekend. On my way to my in-laws garage the harmonic balancer gave up the ghost at 100,223 miles. easy repair just took up all the time I set aside to do the BL and MML. I got the lower control arms in and a HUGE thanks to people like Blaine for making custom parts (control arm centering washer) that make certain things easier. I picked up a spicer dana 44 cover and spark plugs that will go in a few weeks.

This weekend I finally got the Savvy BL & MML in and I'm really happy with the look and additional clearance. I had the body lift finished in about 1.25 hours. The MML.....Jesus did it fight me. That driver side bracket is a huge pain. New headlights came in and i scored a set of 3" RockJock springs for $200 on marketplace. Stand by for wheeling pictures after the weekend. Time to put the new u-joints and front driveshaft to the test.

I also found this gem during the intall. She's got a date with a hammer and a welder soon.

yeah we're practically twins :ROFLMAO::rolleyes:

The weather is looking good and I'm meeting up with a buddy to get some much needed trail therapy in on saturday. Time to put all the upgrades to the test.
Beat on it like it owes you money....

Have a good trip.

You gotta love Amazon's return policy.
I ordered the JW Speaker knockoff headlights first but didn't like the look so I ordered the Trucklite knockoffs. I am digging the simple design.

Another wheeling trip with some new upgrades. A few weeks ago I scored 3" Rockjock progressive rate springs, $200 for the full set. They ride like a dream and handled the trail so well. I painted my shocks while the wheels were off. I also put my new bumper on. I've had my eye on this Barnes stubby bumper for awhile but they have been out of stock for awhile. Lucky for me they popped back up and I snagged one on Tuesday. I've never been a fan of logos on things so this bumper had an appointment with the welder before it was mounted.

you can still see it a little here but after the final coat of undercoating spray it's barely noticeable.

I have some videos coming but here's a few shots. We did mostly blue trails along with a few red/black trails. The LJ is a beast.

I scored a scratch and dent deal on a barnes4wd high clearance rear bumper. I painted the metal below the tailgate black to hide the butt crack a bit. I also explored a local spot with a buddy in his xj.

Spent Saturday up at Rausch again and had a great time. We explored all the blues on the Northeast property.

pretty cool picture here. no filter, we had the chance of storms all day but lucked out.

I will admit I did not go down the other side, I chickened out. next time I'm up at Rausch I plan to tackle this hill in reverse.

Next time you guys take a run up to Rausch, let me know... if it's the easier trails, I wouldn't mind going (I'll save the technical trails for a time after my Savvy sliders and GTS arrive!)...

I'll take you up on that. I'm trying to put a small group together to go in september. We stick to blues mostly. My LJ is my daily so I don't get too rowdy on the trails.
