What did you do to your TJ today?

I’ve done a few small things over the last few days, daystar dash tray, relocated my cb to the left of the steering wheel on the dash, I believe the mount I used was hooke, black headlights bezels. Just tinkering. In the near future I need to order a couple end links from teraflex for one of my control arms, I’m not sure how to size them correctly to order the right ones. I may just call them. And I’m still trying to convince myself to pull the trigger on the bartact seat covers.
Look at caltrends before u decide.

The TJ has taken a back seat lately.... I'm building a new one of these for my "new to me" CJ7.

The desert is great for rust.... not so much for wire insulation.

This is just the "dash" harness.... every wire in it needs to be replaced. I'm building this one from scratch as I'm going to add some circuitry for a modern stereo/amp and some other things. I'll buy ready make light and engine harnesses.

Fun times...

Today I took off the throttle body, removed the IAC, and cleaned the throttle's airways.
Once I had it as clean as I could get it, I installed a new IAC, throttle gasket and reinstalled the body.
I got a P0068 code afterwards, so I tightened everything down a little more, cleared the code (with a reader). Dove the Jeep around for a while, it seems good to go now. Idle is very smooth.

Well I haven't done it yet, but I might. LOL

Hubby found these tires and wheels. We don't know if the wheels will fit my Jeep ( need to find his tool for measuring the hole pattern), but if they do, I may put them on to see what it will be like to run a bigger tire. With them being 11.5's I'm not sure they will even work with my set up, but I will find out. LOL

I also got a Dorman pan with drain plug, but I sent it to mrblaine and he braised a 1/8 NPT bung in it for me for a good price. If I hadn't already had the Dorman pan on hand, he said I could have had it drop shipped to him and then he'd send it out when it was ready. It's been leak free. My attempt to weld in a bung on a pan was not-so-leak-free. LOL

Now this is the way to go.. I really did not think of getting another pan and doing a simple swap after the bung was installed. Did not realize they were cheap enough as to NOT cause pain with my "Commander in Chief" (aka the old Lady!) In fact I was going to check on the Jeep Junk yard down the road Tuesday. The Dorman pan with drain plug excellent, Thanks.

Just a little progress on the half doors… Got them stripped down and ready for prep and paint. I’ll also test fit them next time to make sure the alignment is good and that I don’t have to adjust the hinges

I also got a little done on the Willys PU. One spring and shackle swapped out. A PO welded the castle nuts to the frame, which slowed us down considerably.

Me and the wife took a day trip up to Townsend TN. Cades cove jeep outpost was closed, Smoky mountain jeep outfitters closed at noon so we stopped by Jake's on the river View attachment 256192

I love that place. My wife and I are considering opening a Jeep accessories store in Northeast TN.

I added Barricade floor mats today.

today I put the rear seat back into the TJ pretty much for the first time since I brought it home, I think it was in for a couple months then. Reason being my daughter is coming home solo for a 5 day visit & me, her & my girlfriend will be bopping around touring some wineries & outdoor eateries here & there. It's hard to believe in all these years this hasn't come up until now, it's been just fine as a two-seater... no big deal, took 5 minutes to pop in, the hardest part was getting it down from the loft in the garage, nearly killed myself doing that, took me a minute to remember I installed a pulley onto a roof joist to raise that thing up there, grabbed the rope & lowered it back down following my first attempt at he-manning it down the ladder.

Took the opportunity to blow all the crap out of it with the leaf blower. Anyway, it's in:
