Opinions on tires

@CLA They're unbeatable for the price point. I only switched to OME for there HD springs since I tow a camper trailer from time to time. If I didn't I would've stuck with the Rancho shocks!

@tr21triton I love them! This is my second set. Got 40k out of the first but I replaced them before they really needed to be and this set has 15k on them and still have decent tread left. I off-road in mainly mud and water crossings (the downside of being in Houston) but occasionally I go out to Austin to do some rock crawling. Once they're aired down they perform really well!

@BC Moto I haven't had a RC on my truck but a friend has one on his Chevy and says that he likes the ride a lot more than stock. Could be too harsh for a light vehicle like a TJ but fine for heavier truck? a RC rep told me that they using similar valving across some different shocks for different vehicles. Also a lot of trucks don't go through the abuse jeeps do off-road which is potentially why the RC shocks didn't last long for me.

yea, i agree on the hankook's . loved em so much i bought a set for my brother's YJ for xmas for him. there alot quieter than the BFG's

Never had BFGs on my Jeep but compared to some MTs like the trail grappler or mud grappler they're much quieter IMO. That being said now that my jeep isn't my daily and is predominately a off-road vehicle I'll be switching to some dedicated mud tires most likely.

@CLA i noticed you have the exact Hankook's I'm talking about as your spare. did you used to have a set of them?

Yeah those were on the jeep when we bought it. Finally wore them out and got some quieter tires. They were pretty noisy

I was even thinking maybe going with 255/85/16. Little bit skinnier bit taller. Anyone running those that might have some pics? I've seen a few but more never hurts.
My LJ on 255/85R16 KM2. It has JKS 3" lift plus 1" body lift. I find the tires a bit more narrow than I like. They are a load range E tire, however, I found the BFG LRE to be much softer than the Cooper LRE that I had before.

Very nice. I like the look of the skinnier tires. I know a lot of people are down on that look but I like it. I’m actually looking at those wheels as well.

First photo is with with JKS 3" + 1"BL. The 2nd photo might be with only a 2" lift plus BL. I don't recall timing on the pictures. I don't have anything from the rear. The backspace on the Mammoth wheels is perfect. Its the same as AEV used to run on the 16" Bridgers.

They are the silver Mammoth. I've had them for a couple of years.
I wish they still made those in silver because I’d pick up a set for sure. The dark grey looks nice too but I already have black and I really want to go brighter. Been debating between those and the procomp 69, but I’ll prolly go with the procomps because of the finish

I didn't realize silver was no longer available. But your right, no sign of it on their website. Sign of the times I guess, everyone on all of the forums has been pushing black so hard for the past few years, that people were afraid to purchase silver and chrome wheels. So no more silver. But I'm sure it will come back at some time. There are still silver wheels out there.

Have you looked at the Quadratec wheels? The Rubicon Extreme is pretty similar. In fact I like it better. It doesn't have the extra lip on the inside of the wheel at the valve stem.

Yeah I’ve looked at them and like the them pretty well from the little I’ve seen of them. I’ve only really looked at the customer pics of them on the quadratec website. Guess I need to scour the internet for some more pics on some tj’s.
