JL buyers better thank Ford for this (35's from the factory)

This is better - In addition to the Xtreme Recon package, Jeep is adding a new 4.88:1 axle ratio for the Wrangler Rubicon. When paired with the 6-speed manual transmission, this will give the Rubicon a 100:1 crawl ratio, according to Jeep. It will be available to order later this year, the automaker said.

4 door is where all the sales are at unfortunately…
Door door manual wrangler with big wheels and big engine would be a niche within a niche within a niche within a niche within a niche.
Sure no doubt but they've got all the parts to add it to the 2-door Rubicon, maybe they'd sell more of them.

The interesting thing is I could buy a used TJ, pay someone to put a V8 in it, then pay MrBlaine to fix it up, and likely still spend $20,000 less then this new offering. I'd save even more if it was the 392 version.

And I think the TJ would be more offroad capable in the end.

I saw a used Gladiator listed at $62,000.

With it only available on Rubicon and 392 models, they can keep it.

The Bronco has more buzz than anything I’ve seen in 4x4’s in years......really if you sit back and look at the 4x4 market today it is a category with a variety of players, Jeep having the most cred and history, and Bronco being added to the mix.

Jeep has a cult like, duck swapping following, to me it has played the the market about like Harley Davidson- more sophisticated vehicles, more sophisticated buyers, with the exception that the Harley buyers are buying into the old image and lifestyle and the jeep buyers it is mostly just lifestyle.

What Jeep needs to do is wake up to the fact that somewhere between the 3.6 and a 392 they can find a displacement that better fits the JL s size, weight and the intended use of most customers.

I’m honestly lost that they can’t seem to see that , despite the pull. FCA top brass went so far to say a bigger engine just wasn’t possible....same guys that were quick to announce the 392 when the Bronco buzz started.

Kinda like that Gladiator in Townsend with the HellCat engine sitting in it, that was installed by a dealership.

AND - you wouldn't be saddled with all the stupid electronic crap, it'd be a far more manageable size, and it'd be a 2 door!

Agreed. I think that’s gonna push potential buyers to the bronco, especially if a buyer is looking for the most off road worthy vehicle on a budget.

Ford offering all the off road bits on a base model is definitely a smart play.
On the ram truck site, you can add the power wagon pkg to the base truck. I can’t understand why they don’t allow Jeep buyers this option.

I’m gonna stick with simple greed. Only allowing it on the rubicon forces buyers into the top trim… only allowing it on the four door adds an additional $3500 to the bottom line over the two door.

Again, Ford has it right by offering the best off road package on the base two door (or anything in between). They will pull some potential jeep buyers and probably a few jeep loyalists looking for less tech and lower entry price.

Geezzzz.... what are the odds haha

Don't get me wrong, I like the trucks, just not the name. Kinda the opposite with the Power Wagons, I'm ok with the name, but I can't stand the bedside graphics now
Even worse than the graphic is the mud tire tread pattern on the seats…give me a break.

I have always heard dealerships make more money on loaded vehicles. Having never been in the business, I don’t know if this is true. I don’t doubt it though.

I can understand why dealers wouldn’t order one for the showroom if it is true. It would be nice to have it as a special order option though.

Ouch.... good thing I never made it to the door handle haha
