I recently read this post from here. And am wondering if the below battery is correct for my Jeep. As its super cheap at $150.

"Mid Level Calcium AGM: Calcium AGM offerings by East Penn such as the O'Reilly's SuperStart AGM, NAPA Legend AGM and Duralast Platinum AGM store brands are highly rated and probably suitable for 90% of TJ/LJ owners looking for an AGM battery. My recollection is that the Duracell AGM battery also falls into this category.
34-AGM from autozone for just under $200."

Here is the one i found from the above list. For $150. Its not only the cheapest from the above list. But has dual connectors. Is this correct for my stock 99 4.0? Ive got an old weak 550cca in mine now. Would like to upgrade.

I had the superstart for my last battery. Lasted almost 5 years to the month. Aside from its relatively short lifespan, it did well in the jeep since it was agm

If I was shopping for a battery I would definitely get one with the dual connectors for accessories. My Pep Boys Champion battery is not even 2 years old though. I paid $150 and it has very similar specs to the unit you linked above. Yours sounds like a good deal. Group 34 is the right size.

If you have the wedge-style hold down, you can fit the larger Group 24 with no modifications.

If you have the clamp-style hold down, you can bend a piece of 1.5 X 1/8 aluminum bar into a hat shape to fit it with the OEM tie down.

The group 24 has approximately 15% additional capacity over the group 34. It is the same footprint, just 1" taller.

You mean this one for $95?!

I planned to buy the O'Reilly AGM Group 34M with the dual terminals, but ended up buying the Duracell at Sam's Club today because it has the exact same specs and appears to be made by the same manufacturer. As a bonus, it was $30 less. The dual post setup was PERFECT for my needs, and my Blue Sea marine fused distribution block fit perfectly.

I'm debating moving my winch cables from the standard posts to the marine threaded posts, with the rest of the accessories.

Double check the specs on the posts - Sometimes, some batteries, have a lower amperage rating on the secondary terminals. This is due to using less material on the internal connections. Both can handle the starter & general use, but one might not be great for a winch. Something to check into.

Good info, thanks! I believe this is a re-labeled Deka Intimidator from East Penn, and I can't find any mention of that in the Deka literature.

Whats the warranty on that battery?

Good question. It's 18 month free replacement (not prorated), which appears to be better than the O'Reilly 12 month warranty
I had not noticed the short warranty on the Oriely battery, I also consider 18 months pretty short. My $150 group 34 from Pep Boys has a 48 month warranty.

The marine batteries appear to have a shorter warranty than the automotive equivalents. Perhaps because of the more demanding service they typically see?

(Group 34M vs Group 34)
