Do I put more money into my ‘97 TJ or try to sell it?

Not to repeat what mostly everyone said I don't see anything that really scares me other than the frame under the skid plate. I would see how much attention that needs but overall its better than most of the jeeps I have looked at in my area (SE MI). You will battle rust the rest of its life...

    Jeep sputters out and dies

The site below is the service manuals by year. It has a wiring diagram for all the wiring in the jeep. http://www.jeep.on-line.no/documentation/TJ/Jeep_TJ.htm

    TJ is shaky in park

Sounds like two different problems one is a low idle or it was running rough and another steering, suspension, something's loose problem. What RPM was it idling at? Was the RPM jumping or moving at all with the shaking? Maybe check plugs/wires, clean throttle body and change the air filter if...

Falken Wildpeak AT3W vs Kumho Road Venture AT51

I have the Falken Wildpeak AT3W on my Sierra and I like them a lot but I don't off road the truck. They do very well in the slush/snow, but I don't think you will see much snow based on your location.

    How-To: No-Weld Rusty Floors

Good to hear, I read several reviews like this. So far everything is holding up very well, no complaints at all except my "stainless steel" rivets have some surface rust on them... Michigan winters suck.

    Deceleration Vibration

Lugs are torqued at 100 ft pounds. Double checked for loose suspension items and everything looks good, plus the lift had no effect on the shudder. Could it be a bad transmission mount?

    Deceleration Vibration

The feeling of the lugs on the road sounds familiar from my 15 jk with duratracs. I could always feel that at low speed but this is something else. I can feel the lugs on the road with these even stronger but theres a vibration or shudder that comes along with it.

    Deceleration Vibration

Both axles are stock 3.07 gearing :( I thought of the angle being the issue but its stock upper and lower control arms so I don't think its been messed with. When I did the 2" lift I did get some vibrations from that around 35-45 mph so I put a 1" drop on the TC skid until I can get a SYE kit...

    Deceleration Vibration

Had discount tire check them twice and each time they said that they were in balance, plus at highway speed there is no vibration only less than 10mph

    Deceleration Vibration

My TJ has done this since I have had it. At first I thought it was the brakes but after replacing the rotors and pads in the front and the rear drums and shoes there was no change at all. Jeep rides smooth when accelerating at any speed but when coasting or not pressing on the gas pedal I get...

    Jeep Gladiator: Hit or Hype?

I saw it at the FCA building too but they don't like you taking photos in there.

    Jeep Gladiator: Hit or Hype?

I got the photo from here, just google searched it. https://news.pickuptrucks.com/2016/03/easter-jeep-safari-will-showcase-pickup-concepts.html But I sat in it during the 2017 Toledo Jeep week and at the Detroit auto show. I really liked it but it was supposed to be a Comanche not the Gladiator.

    How-To: No-Weld Rusty Floors

Thanks, I was concerned about using it for the torque box as well. 3m's data shows the shear strength is 3935psi with a 10mil thick application to 18 gauge steel, which the steel and adhesive will fail together. The Jeep uses 16 gauge steel so it would potentially be higher. It performs as...

    How-To: No-Weld Rusty Floors

Not quote sure yet. I am going to start with mats and see if its too hot/cold. Hopefully I wont need the carpet because the carpet I have is trashed.

    Jeep Gladiator: Hit or Hype?

I have a pickup and a wrangler so I really want to like it but I don't. I think it looks like a JL with a ram bed on the back which is precisely what it is. Honestly I don't think it will function as well for pickup things as a pickup and it wont perform off road like a stock wrangler...

    How-To: No-Weld Rusty Floors

Thanks for the positive feedback! I sort of expect the negative comments but I thought it was worth sharing. I use the Jeep on the road sometimes in the summer when I can cruise with the top off but mainly its just driving to the off road park. Its the back up vehicle if something happened to...

    How-To: No-Weld Rusty Floors

New to the forum and thought I would share my floor pan and torque box repair. Just purchased a 97 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 135k for very cheap to be used as an off road toy. Being that its spent its entire life in Southern Michigan it has been salted to near death. My frame is still solid...
