    Safe T Cap/Pocono mix 'n match

I'm about to have the frame repaired on my '06 TJ. Mine is actually not in terrible shape yet, but I know it will continue to deteriorate, so I'm having the work done now. I'm doing the works...center section and front/rear trail sections. I wanted to share that I went with Pocono for the...

Stahlbus vs Fumoto vs EZ Oil Drain Valves

Only problem I've had with my Futomo is setting the little black safety clip aside on the ground/floor while the oil drains and then having to hunt for it . But, that's operator error.....

Internal frame treatment after frame caps installed

After posting my question, I watched a video from a shop that does a lot of Safe T Cap repairs. He recommends painting the inside of the components with Rustoleum Self Etching primer before welding. If I do that, my plan would then be to use Eastwood's internal frame coating after assembly and...

Internal frame treatment after frame caps installed

I'm not a welder, but my understanding is that if the parts are painted/treated beforehand, the welding process would melt it off.

Internal frame treatment after frame caps installed

For those of you who have repaired the center section of your frame with Safe T Cap or Pocono parts, how did you access the inside of the frame to prevent future rust? I plan to use Eastwood's internal coating, but there are no access holes on the side of the frame after it is capped. I can go...

I have to ask....why don't you drive these more often? Just curious....no judgement.

    TJ decisions

The OPDA and PCM issues found on some '05-'06 models should not be the deciding factor.....they are both easy fixes. Especially since Wrangler Fix solved the PCM issue.

Connections for hard top wiring don't match

I was just going off what KennethS said about year of Jeep and Hardtop. Thanks for clarifying. Hope the OP picks the right one. This really is the easiest solution for not a lot of $$.

I need a radiator and so will you

Rock Auto and WeRMopar both have the Mopar radiator for my '06 Auto (55037653AC). I replaced mine 25k miles ago. At $387, not sure I'm going to panic and run out and buy a spare to sit on the shelf for 5-7 years. I've got some frame repairs in my future that are more pressing. :(

I swear I saw somewhere that the kit has an inline fuse. I dig around to see if I can find the reference.

    2003-2006 Hardtop Wiring

It seems to me that your Jeep was not wired for a hardtop from the factory, but a PO did add the MOPAR hardtop harness kit (no longer available). I assume that you also have the rear wiper switch and double pump washer bottle? I recall that the MOPAR harness used an inline fuse somewhere and...

Trouble backing off the star wheel while trying to remove drums

Does the drum turn? If so, you shouldn't need to back the shoes off to remove the drum. Just use a big hammer or a drum puller. Edit: And of course, make sure the e-brake is off ;)

    Replacing oil pan gasket

The Fel Pro oil pan gasket comes with some handy plastic temporary studs that hold the gasket in place while reinstalling the pan. Highly recommend.
