I've Never Figured Out When Enough Is Enough

Yep. I'd be on a very similar build plan. Because of the cost and extensive nature of the build, I'm sure it'll take me years to complete. Sometimes it is more about the build than the destination.

I've Never Figured Out When Enough Is Enough

I mean, the TJ is really just practice for a future LJ build right? Actually, I've been low key searching for the right LJ for awhile, but I just can't stomach spending too much money on something that I intend to change completely. I wouldn't need the entire drivetrain. I also doubt I'll start...

Now I just need to find a tired old LJ with a clean frame and tub to start my next build on....

I've Never Figured Out When Enough Is Enough

This post is mostly just a data entry for me to keep my built timeline in order, but this is what I posted in my trailer advise thread: I made the purchase this morning. When I went out there, they didn't have the 10,000# trailer in stock. It was marked wrong in their records. I ended up...

    Need trailer purchase advise

I made the purchase this morning. When I went out there, they didn't have the 10,000# trailer in stock. It was marked wrong in their records. I ended up getting the 20' 14,000# manual tilt. It cost me $700 more to get the larger trailer, but I feel like the benefits that I got made it worth it...

It looks like the steel is 7200# payload capacity & the aluminum is 7700# payload. Not a game changer. GWVR on both is 10,000#

    Need trailer purchase advise

For conversational purposes, I called down to the dealership, and they do have a 20' 10,000# manual tilt for $6,345. So, I feel like I'm narrowing down my options to that, or the aluminum trailer for $9,971 with power tilt. It comes down to, is it worth an additional $3,626+tax for something...

@mrblaine has clearly been down the same thought process as me. He spells out my exact reasons below: This post below, is my exact reason the 7000# trailer worries me. It seems it is prudent to go up in weight capacity.

    Need trailer purchase advise

I originally was thinking I'd want a 16' trailer, but someone I know locally said that I would regret getting any smaller than 20'. He said it pulls a lot better, and the extra capacity is nice to have. I'm open to whatever, I just want to make sure I get the right thing the first time. The...

That is my exact concern. The payload capacity is 4650# I don't feel like that gives me much wiggle room at all.

    Need trailer purchase advise

I plan to purchase a tilt bed trailer in the next week or two. My big debate, is whether I am going to be happy with the 7,000# steel H&H tilt bed. That is my cheapest option that I think would suit my needs, but I'm concerned that it is pushing the weight capacity a little too close with my...

Ok, that makes sense. I still doubt there is any need for that sort of filter....

    Stroker vs re-gear

And that kids, is a classic example of overthinking! Class dismissed. Really though... OP didn't really come here to learn anything... just to peacock his 'knowledge' and debate. It did make for a fun, though mildly uncomfortable, read though!

I don't think that is necessary at all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but dif vents don't draw any air in...
