    Brightest non-LED headlights

I'm running the Toyota headlight housings with the Hella 100/80 bulbs. The Toyota housing lens has a decent, sharp, cutoff. In 2 years of DD use, I've never been flashed for my headlights being too bright.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I'm hoping to find that guy once I've been here awhile.

Replaced the ball joints, did a front brake job, and rotated the tires. It seems that Virginia has annual vehicle inspections, and the inspector failed me on account of the ball joints. It wasn't too bad of a job, YouTube videos, including one from BFH Garage helped.

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

After a couple days in Kentucky Becky and I were getting pretty anxious to get to Newport News and the new (to us) house. The drive through Kentucky, West Virginia, and into Virginia on I-64 was beautiful. We made good time, but at the cost of not really stopping to check out the local...

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

Rhonda and Greg have a large pond on their property, which they have stocked with catfish. They go into a frenzy come feeding time.

Our next stop for a couple of days was at Becky's cousin Rhonda's place near Owensboro, KY. Rhonda and her husband, Greg are great folks and they really put out the welcome mat for us. I really liked Owensboro. We visited Smothers Park along the Ohio River, the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, and I...

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

Up to this point, we had good luck finding RV parks on the fly. In Illinois, the place I had wanted to stay was booked full. Something about a football game in the area. We ended up 50 miles down the road, and boondocked in a Walmart parking lot. Many communities don't allow that any more, and...

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

Then we were back into visiting family and friends. Our first stop was in Lincoln, NE, to see my Aunt Nicky, who I haven't seen since I was about 8 years old. She's my Mom's youngest sister, and we're actually closer in age to each other than they were. Then we were off to the big city of...

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

We spent the night at a rather sketchy rv park near White Lake, SD. Vin stole another of my 805s and got hammered. The next morning, while hooking up the auxiliary brake system in the Jeep, I broke off the end of the multifunction switch. The O'Reilly's auto parts 25 miles down the road in...

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

We made a quick stop at Wall Drug in South Dakota, and at the Dignity Sculpture near Chamberlain. I knew it was near there, but didn't realize it was at a rest area just off the interstate. It was just incredible.

Then these turkeys wandered thru our campsite just before we left.

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

We got to Devils Tower on Sept. 24th. We spent the next morning at Devils Tower, known as Bear Lodge to the Native American tribes of the area. It holds a significant religious and spiritual history to them. There were a lot prayer cloths tied to the tree branches. I did not take pictures of...

Leaving Californy with a banjo on my knee

We sadly left Yellowstone, but were already looking forward to our next destination, Devils Tower. We spent a night along the way at an RV park near where the Battle of Little Big Horn took place. As I looked over the plains there, I was filled with wonder of the battle that took place there...

We then drove the rest of the north loop in Yellowstone. It's just so beautiful there, that it's almost overwhelming. And more buffalo.

The highlight of our 2nd day in Yellowstone was the Artists Paint Pots. Lots of different colors in the hot springs, along with bubbling mudpots.
