Arizona List of Arizona members who like to go off-roading

Hey guys, It is hopefully going to cool down soon. Any plans for some runs in the near future? @DaveC, don’t we need to break your lockers and 33s in?

Don't think I can do a run this weekend. Need to get some stuff together for a pergola I am building in our backyard next weekend.

We did Turkey Creek on Saturday. It ended up being a big group (16 Jeeps and a Bronco). Milton led all of us. It was a bit hot!

    Trans issue

When you checked levels were you in N on level ground? Did you recently add fluid before this happened? I retract what I wrote if you have a standard trans.

Taking up Sewing - Need Advice

My dad was a parachute rigger in the Navy back in the 60s and from what he learned there (sewing and repairing the parachutes), he upholstered multiple hot rods and other large projects in our home shop. I believe he always had an old Weaver machine. Another skill I wish I had learned from him...

Here is the info. The meetup spot is the paved pullout on the west side of the 17. @PurpleTJAZ, are you going to make it? If anyone wants to do something different, let me know.

I will send the information in this thread unless a few here would rather do something else.

Yeah, TJ's can be pricey (my spend list)

I have been doing this since day 1. I actually track everything to the cent. This is definitely a spendy little habit/ addiction/ hobby! But building your own is more fun than buying someone else‘s build.

    That lifter knock issue

From my second-hand (since I decided not to do any of the potential repair options) knowledge from the threads I have read, the consensus seems to be a sticky lifter and if you get to replacing lifters, you might as well rebuild the engine... I am sure some others can provide their experiences...

AZ Jeeps and Trails. Milton, if Debbie wants to go out we can also maybe organize something else. I am open.

I am thinking about joining a small FB group that is running Turkey Creek on Saturday at 8am. Anyone want to join? Or do something else?

Seeking advice on motor mount lift

Brown Dogs Rubber version will cause a fair amount of vibrations. I have them now and just live with it.

    That lifter knock issue

I have spent hours reading up on threads and people's experience with this same issue and am pretty much just letting mine tick until it does not tick anymore and then just rebuild or swap the entire thing. I was thinking about just replacing push rods or rockers, but I found a few instances...

    Aluminum winch plate coating advice

I have the UCF aluminum winch plate and I would have left it bare, but the grade markings (is that what the numbers are called?) bothered me. So I had it powder coated. I am going to order the aluminum skids soon as well. I will leave them bare since they are underneath and not as visible as...

Coil spring spacers: yes or no?

I ran the OME lift you have and 1.25" BL with added spacers for a few months and though it was an okay temporary setup, I pretty quickly put in the Currie 4" springs. I would recommend doing the 4" springs from the get-go.

Arizona Need capable shop / mechanic in East Valley

one quick thing to check out is balanced tires/ damaged tires or different pressure on each side. You can: 1. ensure that your tire pressure is the same on each side (26-28lbs) 2. Swap the front and rear tires and see if it goes away. Then again, posting up something on the General Discussion...

Arizona Need capable shop / mechanic in East Valley

I agree with Dave. If you are not confident at all in doing some work yourself take it to Letzroll. If you can wrench (even just a fair bit), I would post up the issue in the General Discussion section with pics of all front end components and they will set you straight. Once you get your TJ in...
