Phew it’s been a minute! I was focusing on a big trip that was on my bucket list for the Toyota. I’m Pleased to say that we took a few mall crawlers across the Rubicon Trail a couple of weeks ago. To say it was an experience is an understatement. Look forward to taking the TJ on it hopefully...

Hope that helps, my rear diff has had 2 yrs, 40,000 miles on it and I havent had any issues. I also have beat the heck out of...

    Smittybuilt XRC Rock Sliders

I agree and I usually don't wheel alone but there are occasions where I get out there solo. I always have a winch and love using it, satellite communicator, HAM radio + noted local repeaters, all the recovery equipment needed and trail spares. Great tip on body mounted, it's actually the...

    Smittybuilt XRC Rock Sliders

Haha, I agree its why I picked up this TJ :P You can't beat it for comfort though, wheeled that thing from Northern Canada all the way down to Baja Mexico and everywhere in between.

    Smittybuilt XRC Rock Sliders

I’m used to rock sliders that bolt directly to the frame with no attachment to the body. I use my hi lift on sliders mostly for self recovery situations where I don’t have a winch point as pictured in this situation when I turtled out in the desert and needed to throw traction boards under the...

    Smittybuilt XRC Rock Sliders

I’m trying to identify what kind of rock sliders I have on this thing. They appear to be Smittybilt XRCs? If yes are these stout enough to put a hi lift on? I’m not psyched about them but if they work they work.

2004 Jeep Rubicon Built by a Toyota Guy

One of my biggest complaints getting this TJ was how poor these brakes performed. I was surprised how long it took to stop with 33s and wanted to address that asap. Everyone raves about Black Magic Brake Pads so I decided to give them a try. First I wanted to give the system a nice bleed since...
