July...PNW...just added seat heaters...and I don't mind but don't love my sliding soft top windows on my half doors. -Mac

After two attempts water pouring out muffler

Yup...the 4.0 and a slightly lesser extent the 2.4s are the AK-47s of engines...beat on em, drag em through the mud...overheat them... they'll take all kind of abuse...up to when something like this is happening. Clearly the OP has got putting this together...done it twice, same results...so...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Try lightly scoring the tape with a fresh razor blade parallel with the wires. -Mac

After two attempts water pouring out muffler

Cracked block? Block isn't flat. New head isn't flat. New head is cracked. This is when I find my friendly neighborhood machinist and say "Uncle." -Mac

    Warn reformulated winch grease?

Napa said they could get some...4-6 weeks and I'd have to order a case...no thanks...just wanted a tube, maybe two...look forward to what you find. Meanwhile I took the planetary end off my 9.5...tiny trickle of water... didn't go crazy cleaning it...used three blue towels and got the bulk of...

    Buzzing / humming noise

And let's be clear...get the Jeep running and give it a squirt or two and see if the squealing stops. Don't put it in the deep end. -Mac

Re-gearing for 35s (need some build advice)

97 4.0 AX-15 did 4.88s and wish I had done 5.13s. Road to town is 50-60 mph and I'm either at 3k in 4th...which is pretty typical...or 2400 to 2500 in 5th which can get luggy coming out of turns and up hills. -Mac

Removing A/C components and heater core?

Heater core is really easy to get to if you permeantly remove the passenger air bag and put a removable steering wheel on. Planning on putting an articulating arm with a tablet on it for navigation in the space. -Mac

Something as simple as the throttle cable sticking? -Mac

    Warn reformulated winch grease?

Seems like the whole decision to hang a Warn winch as a factory option hinged on the grease... that's either bad writing, bad reporting or id like the rest of that story. -Mac

    Warn reformulated winch grease?

I have a lot of moly grease around... tractor, excavator, lift, etc...wonder if I should get some of that for my 9xp...need to regrease the gears... practically need another winch to get it to free spool. -Mac

1997 TJ heat turns off randomly while driving

Might just be the resistor. Clutch bumps/shakes things around perhaps. Easy as that is to swap I might just try that first. -Mac
