Scam attempts on my Craigslist posting (funny a-holes)

I had my motorcycle on there and the ad said "original owner, owned since 2009, 30k miles", the first email I got asked "approximately how many years have you owned it, are you the original owner?"

2006 steering gear box replacement options for RHD

@mrblaine I found a thread over on JF where you found Lares had a steering box called "Rock Crawler" that was a durango box with the bushings removed and bearings put in its place. Did you ever get your hands on one? They have one on Rock Auto for $300. Sorry for the hijack OP

Rebuild, replace, or upgrade Trac Loc?

If it was mine I would save up for a selectable locker. I think the clutch packs on the Trac Loc's are only good for 50k miles or so IIRC

Need advice on building up Rubicon Dana 44s to run 35 inch tires

Is the thickness of material around the ujoint more or less on a 30 spline shaft vs a 27 spline shaft?

How do you test for a PCM going bad?

Unless he is using the hall sensor that came with the speedo healer. @Igoo65 had a bad sensor from Blue Monkey right out of the box. It should just be a regular hall sensor, its the same one the rubi comes stock with. I cant comment to much on the OPDA as I dont have the experience with it...

Having a Spark Issue, need help diagnosing

If its getting 5V then I would be prodding the Crankshaft sensor (CPS) and the Camshaft sensor (CAM). The computer won't send a signal to the ignition coil to spark unless it's seeing signals from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor

Having a Spark Issue, need help diagnosing

TJs are very picky when it comes to electrical/sensors. I'd replace with a mopar brand. Have you broken out the multimeter yet? The coil should be getting 5V with the key in the on position.

Having a Spark Issue, need help diagnosing

CEL = Check Engine Light. I believe the 98 and 99 models require an external code reader to find out if there is anything stored. What brand of Coil did you use as a replacement?

Having a Spark Issue, need help diagnosing

A CAM sensor works in sync with your CPS sensor. If its out of whack it can cause a loss of spark. Are you throwing any CELs?

How do you test for a PCM going bad?

An erratic speedo is either a bad sensor, or the output shaft is not torqued to spec. FWIW--I had an issue where my speedo was disconnected completely, it threw a CEL and it would stall whenever I came to a stop.

    Less telemarketers and robocalls

There was a stretch where I was involved in a group text, they all had the same area code and first three digits of my cell number. I think there were 12 people in this group. Conversations about homework, which jerseys are we wearing? I thought it was a scam but they were dropping names of...

Dont worry about it. Its not to far from where I work

Repairing frame and floor of my TJ

If its that bad I'd lean towards selling it and finding another vehicle that is more solid.

What do you think of this LJR?

Just looking at dealership photos I see fender rust, different colored tailgate (primer?), and more rust right where the skid meets the frame. I doubt I could run there today but maybe tomorrow afternoon? Certainly looks like it spent time outside of CO, no other rig around here has that amount...

You're right, their page wont load for me anymore. Hopefully its just something simple they need to do to be back up and running online.

For all of us with two wheels also

Thats why I find myself riding less and less each year. Ive lost count the number of near misses people have had around me. Running red lights, on their phone, and some that I believe were just being dicks to people on motorcycles. Its really a chore to ride anymore.
