    Duckless

My lil pup loves her duck! Carries it all over the place. Sometimes I find it hidden under my pillow.

Best speedometer fix for Rubicons in 2024?

I am in the SpeedoDRD - J1 camp. Works great, dead simple to install and easy to change. They even give you a website you plug in what the GPS says, what your speedo says and it prints out the exact steps you need to set the calibration, and it is tiny.

Tuffy rear security drawer (the short one) in an LJ?

oh wow, I don't think I have ever seen a "drawer" in any of the racks I have worked on, other than a KVM drawer. Nothing like that for storing "stuff". I was going to build a rack-like drawer with rails and slides because they can lock closed and server rails are heavy duty, but I ended up...

Tuffy rear security drawer (the short one) in an LJ?

That's kinda cool, just have to fab up the mounting for them. Where did you get those?

What did you do to your TJ today?

Took the Jeep to the gym because it had been skipping leg day on it's own. ;-) Really just found a trade on Market Place, my 33s for his 35s. Too good of a deal to pass up. and then while testing them, I managed to do this to my front DL

    Chudlet's First TJ

Added a couple things to the Jeep lately. Picked up a Radioddity GRMS radio bundle. Came with the DB20-G to mount in the cab and a handheld to take with while spotting or winching or to loan out, whatever. It is nice because it comes with a C-Lighter power adapter so easy take it out of the...

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

Maybe the Previous Owner got a little over zealous in his application of parts? I am sure there are more qualified folks on here that can speak to proper drive line angles, my first thought is the DC is not the appropriate driveline style for this application. Many people get along just fine...

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

Hmm most 2" spacer lifts dont usually require a DC driveline. Those are usually reserved for 4 inch (ish) lifts. You might try an OEM driveline. DC being a Double Cardon joint on one end and a single U joint on the other for high angle situations.

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

Ok going off of what you have in your profile and this post. You have a "small lift", an SYE and a DC driveline. With a DC DL. You start by pointing the rear pinion 1 degree below the transfer case output. You do this with the upper adjustable control arms that you should have installed by...

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

Yup. I tape the loose Ujoints so they don't go flying all over the road

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

Most times. I disconnect the front, dial in the back. When that is vib free, reconnect the front and dial that in. If you get to a point that the vibe won't go away, make sure the tires are balanced as that mask or imitate a DL vibe. There are lots of folks on here that can go into far more...

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

If you were to put it in 4wd at this point then the motor starts spinning it. So lots of care and attention to detail

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

The front, you can disconnect the front end of the DL and hang it with safety wire, zip ties, velcro, dealers choice. Which separates it from being driven by the diff. Just be safe about it, should the front of the DL drop from its securing, it becomes a pole vault

Removing rear driveshaft to test for vibes

Nope. Ther are no hubs on a TJ, therefore if the front tires are spinning so is the diff and the DL. It is only disconnected at the transfer case so it is not driven by the transmission/motor.

    Summer Tops?

I am fond of the Alien web shade. There is one call Spider webshade as well, they are nearly identical except in price. Kind of a "see-through" bikini top. I leave it on all year round and have the main soft top on the frame but down in back just in case of bad weather. Hard top in the winter.
