@Jerry Bransford Haven't yet replaced the radiator but I have a Denso ready to go waiting for a free weekend. Still not overheating unless I turn on the AC. Today, the CEL came on and I got codes P00032, P00038, P00052, P00058 Is this somehow related?

The only Mopar I seem to be able to find in stock anywhere is 55037653AC which is for automatic transmission. I've heard that is fine for a manual since the transmission lines are plugged. Can anyone confirm?

Any concerns with the Denso as opposed to Mopar? I can't find any reliable specs to look at.

I was hoping you'd chime in on that. I was betting since I wasn't off-roading and grinding in low gear that wouldn't be the case, but here we are. :D

Fan clutch replaced. Whew. I COULD NOT break the bolts no matter what I did so I took it to my local shop and they did it for me in 10 minutes. (I bought the pulley immobilizer tool and couldn't break the nuts on the damn pulley to mount it, and at that point, I gave up) Good news - it no...

Sad for me, in that I put $16K into an LJ that's probably now worth $16K at best. I originally thought I would turn it over for a profit but now I am just loving it and keeping it.

Getting ready to replace the fan clutch this weekend. Just for sanity, here are my final observations: 1. The fan is rotating clockwise (driver seat perspective) and is pulling air through the radiator from outside. 1a. The new part's description says it is a counter-rotation fan clutch...

It is the USMW one. I don't actually know if they are permanently attached or not.

@Jerry Bransford - Will I need to replace the whole water pump assembly, since it came in one piece with the fan clutch?

I'm going to put the momentary switch in a dummy toggle in the factory switch bank, and mount the opener under the knee bolster for easy battery changing. Doubt I'll even bother with an enclosure- I'll just use the opener shell as-is.

So, I spun the fan when the engine was warm. It turns without a lot of resistance (I can move it with one finger) but it stops immediately when I let go. It does not free spin.

I'm assuming this means the engine is turned off but warm, and I should spin the fan by hand looking for resistance?

Whew. Found a topic with a similar issue so I don't have to start my own. I had an overheat warning at a long stoplight after a longer trip than usual just the other day. I had the AC on, so I turned it off, saw the gauge drop a little, then was able to get moving and it went back to normal...

Wow. Read that thread and it's waaaaaay over my head. I'm still going to follow it to see how the story ends, though.
