    Cheap spare tire bump stops?

I saw that and that was exactly my plan until I realized I didn’t have the stock bumpers. I just have a hard time shelling out $40 for a couple small pieces of rubber.

    Cheap spare tire bump stops?

So I went to go put a spare on the back of my TJ today and realized there aren’t any of the rubber bump stops on there. Figured I’d just go pick a couple up but they’re $10 each, and they aren’t even the correct length since I had to install a different carrier to fit my tires. Lots of tips for...

    Bosch 67655 fuel pump

It isn’t as easy to do as some guides make it out to be, and in the end, if anything else needs to be replaced, it becomes cost prohibitive. Got a Delphi unit and so far no issues at all. Fully expect to have to replace it again in a few years but that’s life.

Wipers stopped working - where to start?

I’ll give it a shot. Any idea what the fuse number is on a 98 for the wipers, and if that same fuse powers the spray pump as well (aka if the spray still works can it even be the fuse)?

Wipers stopped working - where to start?

As has become the norm for my shitbox (98 Sahara), went out today for a little spin and came back with a new problem: the wipers stopped working. The spray function is fine, but no matter what I do, the wipers will not wipe. Thoughts on what I can check (fuse, plugs, etc)? Thanks.

    Broke down with code P0171

Okay so I finally got around to replacing the O2 sensor and no change. The Jeep still starts up fine and then once it warms up, starts to sputter. Shutting it off and turning it back on, again, runs fine for a bit (30 seconds) and then starts sputtering again. Is there anything that would give...

    Bosch 67655 fuel pump

I found lots of websites that claimed to have the pump in stock, but few that actually did once you called them up. As far as I know, there are only a handful left available to even dealerships.

    Steering not returning to center

The alignment came back spot on, caster included. Made sure the print out listed correct values and that they didn’t just do the trick where they change the range to get it “into the green.” Is it possible I need more caster on this rig than what’s standard for this model?

    Steering not returning to center

So after replacing control arms, shocks, springs, tie rod, etc (basically everything suspension related) I had my TJ aligned by a 4x4 shop because things were pretty out of wack. They managed to sort out almost all of the issues except for one - the steering doesn’t return to center. When going...

    Broke down with code P0171

Probably going to sound like an incredibly dumb question but, the upstream sensor is the one after the exhaust manifold at the very bottom of the bay which you can see from above when looking down? I can take a picture if that description doesn’t cut it.

    Broke down with code P0171

NGK 23151 is what I have on hand, which from my notes is the upstream sensor which I have written is the only one that really makes a difference.

    Broke down with code P0171

98 TJ Sahara was driving fine until all of a sudden at ~45 mph the truck started surging. Came to a stop and it threw a check engine light and started to idle extremely rough with a strong smell coming from the exhaust. Managed to limp it to an auto store and they read the check engine code as...

    Heater core parts question

One of the hoses is the same, one is different. Ordered the Gates hoses since I used them for the radiator with good results, and the corresponding constant tension clamps. Hope this fixes it.

    Heater core parts question

Amazon lists these as the wrong hoses for a 98 4.0, just want to make sure they’re correct before I order.

    Heater core parts question

Appreciate it! The Mopar hoses seem crazy expensive - are there any good third party alternatives?

    Heater core parts question

So I replaced my heater core earlier this year after it completely failed and have since been religiously checking for signs of another leak. Earlier today I noticed one and my heart stopped for a moment thinking I’d have to pull the entire dash and do the job over again, but it was thankfully...

Thoughts on repairing a rusted floor pan?

Your heater core is probably leaking if it’s rusted on the passenger, so I’d check and address that first else you’re just going to rust through whatever you put down. After that, I’d just replace the pan on that side. Had my passenger side done a few months ago by a Jeep fab shop and it was...

    Grinding when shifting transfer case

No grinding as long as the transmission stays in N. As soon as I move it out of the that, grinding starts. Alternatively, if the transfer case is already in 4H or 2H when the Jeep starts, there’s no grinding. Only when the Jeep is stared with the transfer case in N.

    Grinding when shifting transfer case

Close. Transmission and transfer case are in N, start up, shift transfer case to 4H, and then when I move the transmission at all (to either P, R, or D) the grinding starts up. I shut the Jeep off and start it right back up again without touching anything and the grinding stops.

    Grinding when shifting transfer case

No, the grinding happens when I put the transmission in gear after shifting from N to 4H on the transfer (by pushing toward the tub, aka I'm not shifting into 4L by mistake).
