How Can We Identify a Good Off Road Shop?

I definitely don't believe in the "rat race" but when I have to fix or replace something, I usually go overboard. I also have no desire to add mods that I will never use. To me , that's just a waste of cash. As for the "baiting", it sounds like you and I have a similar agenda and belief system...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Nice install of that head unit. Do you have a write up by chance? I have been an installer off and on since the early 80's and am very picky about detail when it comes to installs, especially the head unit. I have been tossing the idea around of installing a full size unit but I really don't...

How Can We Identify a Good Off Road Shop?

Absolutely zero shops here that I think I would trust my Jeep with. It's quite unfortunate but I've even experienced some bad "word of mouth" recommendations too. I was hoping to find some golden rules within this post but a lot of what has been said is true. My woman can tell when I start...

Difference between Tom Woods and JB Conversion super short SYE?

Sorry to hijack but I am researching my SYE install and parts. Can I install a "super short" now and do the tuck later? Will the DS clear the stock skid? I already have a body and mml.

    Odd knocking noise from underneath

OP - sounds like all of the issues that my bad tranny mount had. The rubber had torn and would rattle under initial load. Jon Wildes - nice broken bracket. it looks to have shifted quite a bit....

    Rear track bar with SYE?

Advanced Adapters As for the rear track bar - for another $30 - $40 the PO could get a Metal Cloak. Paid $205 to my door and that was including shipping cuz I got tired of waiting for a free shipping deal.... Not sure what the JKS runs but those are the only two I would advise. If you're just...

    Lift Height Confusion

Might also talk to Toximus. My springs came from him and I know his LJ was pretty loaded at the time. It might give you some reference as to how much these compressed when he was fully loaded.

    What was removed?

Kind of like driving in a parkway and parking in a driveway ;)

    Lift Height Confusion

My Jeep is pretty light but I ended up with over 3" in the front and around 2.5" in the rear. It actually turned out pretty good. Just trying to tweak for a little more plush ride without sacrificing handling.

    What was removed?

I have seen some type of fogging machine used on the Volvo evap system we used to have. Worked pretty slick. Pressurized the system and them when the fogger is started, the fog is forced out through any leaks in the system. The Volvo's evap system is pretty intricate and hard to diagnose. As...

    Lift Height Confusion

Maybe look into the Old Man Emu ZJ/LJ kit. The spring numbers are 934/949. Sounds like you're definitely hauling some weight. Might not net you quite the amount of lift you're looking for though....

    What's your security philosophy?

As most do, I usually leave mine unlocked. I actually went to lock my tail gate for the first time and found out that the lock is jacked up. Glad I haven't added a sub yet..... I'd much rather lose something that have the Jeep damaged because of a thief.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I haven't did the chalk test yet but these tires are new so it's pretty easy to see where contact has been made. My Jeep is super light so I'll be amazed if my contact patch widens any. I'll post back after my drive.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I think that my next shock change is leaning towards the adjustable Ranchos or some Fox shocks. I have been shock hopping(currently on JKs - too soft) and am not satisfied as of yet..... I'm interested to see what 25# is going to feel like. Doing an alignment check tonight and then I'll take her...

    Left Overs For Trade

I'd really like to hold out for a trade as I just listed them. If you'd like, PM me an offer. Last time I quoted these for shipment, it was right around $25

    Left Overs For Trade

Added fogs to the trade list with pics. Would love to do a package deal on some of this just to get these parts out of my garage. I have no issues shipping first as long as you have credentials and I get all of your personal info

What did you do to your TJ today?

Washed her......just in time for the rain..... Dropped tire pressure. These MTRs really like low pressure when installed on a light Jeep. I'm at 26.5# and still have 3/4" on inside/outside that is not making contact.....

Resources for fixing rusted TJ / LJ frames

I have used the Auto Rust Tech patches and they are an excellent product. The Pocono products are just as good and quite a bit cheaper. The biggest thing is to know when to say when. The bottoms of my rails looked good until I started cleaning things up. They opened right up. The upper portion...
