Paint Help: How to Prep Jeep For New Paint

    Color match spray paint

Unlikely he'll find cromate primer in California with our insane regs. Epoxy or self etching primer maybe. The Alumiprep deep cleans the aluminum and removes any oxidation. The alodine coating protects the bare aluminum from re-oxidizing for a short time, but should be primed as soon as possible.

Is a 7” wide fender flare the right size?

You'll need at least a 6" wide flare to cover them.

Is a 7” wide fender flare the right size?

Depends on your wheel back spacing. Do you know what that is? Rubi flares are 1" wider. Anything wider than 6" of flare starts to look goofy IMO.
