They are out there my 97 TJ Sahara with a Dana 35 came with an LSD from the factory. I have also seen lunchbox lockers for sale. There are also stronger chromoly axle shafts available for the front and rear axles. Just limit your tire size to 35's and they will survive.

Beg to differ. The weight difference between an 8.8 and a Dana 30 is only 20 lbs and the pumpkin is only 2" larger so only a single inch of ground clearance is lost. Easily fixed with 2" bigger tires and finally how can anybody who has driven a TJ say that it doesn't need more and better brakes...

Your rig must be pretty heavy if it takes 50,000 lb/ft of torque to move it.🤔 Just sayin.😉

Why? The extra unsprung weight carried that low will lower the CG and improve stability. Plus it is a super tough rear end good to over 1200 Hp with the right parts.🤷‍♂️😉 I would recommend installing 9"housing ends so you can eliminate the C clips on the axles. Bonus you can grab the rear...

That is one way to gain access. Some may find it a little extreme though. 👍😁

Thanks everyone for all the info and pictures. I was able to get new shocks in my 2004 TJ smoothly, as I knew where to cut and what tools to bring. 👍😁 Long arm next.
