Getting pulled over in my TJ

If this means what it sounds like, maybe they already know who you are?

Is it okay to put 100% pure gas in my TJ?

It's OK. You're engine will run fine - it was made for this. Ethanol has about 80% of the energy of gasoline. Most gas has 10% ethanol. Running 100% gas can be expected to give you about 2% more mileage and power. The main reason for E10 is that even adding 10% ethanol can reduce harmful...

Is their anyone out there that plan to leave their Jeep stock?

That could be taken 2 ways. Proper off road modification can be done in a way that maintains streetability. -or- If you have a Wrangler, streetability should not be a priority. Interesting and I defer to your expertise if the first. The second would be like, just your opinion man :-)

Is their anyone out there that plan to leave their Jeep stock?

Define "Stock". To me the line from "essentially" stock to meaningful mods starts with a lift and then increasingly significant off road suspension, drivetrain and other related modifications. By that definition I plan to stay stock. But of course I did stuff to make it more suitable for what...

Plastic adhesion promoter for painting fender flares?

I did it about a month ago, no splotches, perfectly consistent. Given you're at best batting a 500 on this, I'll wait and see if your longevity concerns have any basis in reality. Good luck.

Plastic adhesion promoter for painting fender flares?

Slow your roll here. Once you get it back to sun worn grey, grab a heat gun and try it out. Completely restored mine to black with less than an hour of easy work.

Should I buy a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 140k miles?

People are rightfully saying check the frame. I would add inside specifically. At very least, there are several holes big enough to let you stick your finger in and feel around. If there are big flakes coming off all over the place this is a concern. I had some surface rust and the tiniest bit...

    Bad words were said

Drill with progressively larger bits. Too late but having worked on some rust buckets, next time do the WD-40 a couple days in advance...then again a day in advance.

Whirring sound that increases with speed while in gear

Thanks, I need to give it a good going over as I recently bought it, was just wondering if anything jumped out as an obvious and common cause.

Whirring sound that increases with speed while in gear

No but wouldn't that persist when I put the clutch in?

Whirring sound that increases with speed while in gear

Hearing a whirring that increases with rpms, only under acceleration (in gear) and mostly in 2nd gear. Any obvious causes? Manual.

Pet peeves with your TJ that you choose to live with

Pet peeves with your TJ that you choose to live with

When I want to fold my rear seat forward, I have to reach down and use my finger to nudge the right floor hook off. Probably a bad cable. Don't really care because I just leave the seat up all the time, especially given I got one of those secure storage "trunks" that create a shelf and that you...

If you got new fender flares, would you paint them?

Now that I know the heat gun trick I still have my factory black flares, they look great and I don't worry about fading. The heat gun trick being simply that if you get a $20 heat gun, you can restore the color of faded flares by heating them up. Whole process took me an hour or two.

Tailgate security, hi-lift jack, and headlights

I got this for use with a back seat and it fit perfectly and was exactly what I needed to toss my laptop bag somewhere when I go to happy hour...or to keep some stuff. https://www.quadratec.com/products/14147_0202_07.htm

    Frame is solid

That's interesting. Did you poke around with your fingers by the larger holes? I have some patches of flakes in mine near a couple of them, but I scoped it and they are fairly isolated, so finding some flakes doesn't mean pervasive rot. The worst actually seems to be where the back bumper...

Would a supercharger require an upgraded clutch

Have some experience with turbocharging cars. Thinking a little more oomph on m TJ would be...good. A basic supercharger seems to be the option of choice. Last time I did even a fairly low boost turbo I needed to upgrade my clutch and eventually the differential. Is this a reasonable...

    Holding back rust

Nobody has mentioned it so I will. At the two low points of the frame on each side (so 4) drill drain holes. These are right by the control arm attach points. I have some fairly superficial internal rust and what there is is right at those 2 low points and where the ski plate attached. Oh...
