    2004 Steering Gear Box Recommendations?

@Codyz0r I installed LARES 1356 Remanufactured gear box from RockAuto in December 2018. No issues so far but I only drive the Jeep in the summer. (no significant offroading). Best of luck.

Engo winch / battery bolt too big / small

What would you do? Engo power leads will fit only on the small bolt of the Military battery terminals. Should I use a smaller bolt in place of the 3/8 bolt, use a stage bit to enlarge the hole of the Engo pos/neg power source or just connect to the smaller bolt?

    Thinking of moving to Texas

Pinehurst is a pretty area. Naturally prices for homes are more reasonable on the outside of Chapel Hill, Raleigh...less expensive just on the outskirts of any major city. My wife is Realtor/Broker: it's a challenge in some places for a middel class family to purchase a home.

    Thinking of moving to Texas

Have you ever considered North Carolina: "Research Triangle" Raleigh/Durham area. I live in a town called Holly Springs, NC in Wake County. (about 25 miles outside of the Raleigh which is the Capital of NC). It has 4 seasons with minimal snow in the winter and hot summers. Not depressing lengths...

    Who Locks Their Doors?

I used to own an Isuzu Amigo soft-top in 1993. I was living in Delray Beach, Florida at the time. It was a holiday and my wife asked me to move the vehicles out of the driveway. I would keep the Amigo doors unlocked not wanting them to cut my top. I never kept anything too valuable that was not...

I owned an Isuzu Amigo soft-top in 1993. I was living in Delray Beach, Florida at the time. It was a holiday and my wife asked me to move the vehicles out of the driveway. When I went out to move the Amigo: my front seats were gone, stereo gone, amp that was mounted under the seat gone and my...

Any Input: Engo Winch Model SR9S or Smittybilt 98510 X2O-10 Comp Gen 2 Winch with Synthetic Line

Agree: Quadratec isn't the best price...but you would still recommend Smittybilt over Engo? Any particular reason why?...better performance, warranty etc- Thanks

Any Input: Engo Winch Model SR9S or Smittybilt 98510 X2O-10 Comp Gen 2 Winch with Synthetic Line

Any updated input or experience on the above winches? Engo Winch Model SR9S (American made). I can get the Engo from Metal Tech delivered for $380. Smittybilt 98510 X2O-10 $496 (on sale) from Quadratech...maybe it will decrease a little more around July 4th. Smittybilt does have a better...

Professionals: rear passenger shock hole too big. What would you do?

That's what the "Professional Installers" suggested. I don't thinks it's necessary or needed. I think they were just lazy and/or incompetent. I have a 2004 Jeep TJ: I online chatted with RC customer service and they said it's not compatible with my Jeep...and their webpage said it's for...

Professionals: rear passenger shock hole too big. What would you do?

I did not put the hole in the tub to place the bolts. I needed to put in an access hole only on the driver side to remove about a half welded nut: (the "professional installers" tried to drill out the bolt, drilled it out crooked, and put another nut on top of the piece of the original nut to...

    Wild Boar grab bars

Installed new grab bars ordered off of ebay for $25. Online measurement instructions were a start but still needed to do some dremel work on the plastic trim to accommodate the "Y" mounting bracket. (I didn't know the bars would say "AUTOSAVER88"-I guess I'll live with it)

Worked on Friday/Saturday: Installed new grab bars ordered off of ebay for $25. Online measurement instructions were a start but still needed to do some dremel work on the plastic trim to accommodate the "Y" mounting bracket. Reinstalled gas tank (with new Bosch fuel filter assembly) and new...

Professionals: rear passenger shock hole too big. What would you do?

I want to thank everyone for the recommendations. At this time I have elected not to do any welding. I decided to use a flanged bolt running down, shock absorber cross pins to the underside of frame, lock washer and then nylon nut. I also put in an access hole thru the tub if needed and...

What did you do to your TJ today?

That's a great idea. You are correct, the loom from Rugged Ridge was a little bigger so I did have some room. Thanks for the input...next time I'll stagger cuts.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Wired my 3rd brake light to a swing-away tire carrier.. Tapped into the original wire coming right out of the swing away tailgate. (black is hot +12V, white is ground). Stripped wire, crimped with heat shrink butt connectors, added heat, wire loomed with black electrical tape. The wire loom...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Dropped my gas tank earlier this week. Replaced hardware: replaced 6 of 7 carriage bolts (the one closest to the passenger rear tire was ok and I didn't think I could fish a new one through) , 5/16 x 1" carriage bolts, bolt retaining rings, washers and nuts. Today I dropped a new Bosch fuel...
