2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Well its been several months since I added anything so escaping the GA heat right now and updating. So bad news good news here as my LJ sat in the garage for a few weeks while I vacationed and some business travel and while I was away my front Falcon shock let some oil out. The good is I called...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Finally made it to WindRock Park in Oliver Springs TN. What an awesome place. A bit slippery when wet. Can't wait to go back soon. Here are a few pics from the trip last month. Trail 16 at night in the rain was quite the trail ride. I was the only small tire Jeep in the group of 8 with 35". The...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

I will check it out. Those came with my Teraflex 1” body kit. Still have the factory as I apparently can’t part with anything I take off my LJ.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

My son needed an AG project for HS and we needed a RTI ramp. Just finished yesterday other than paint. I got up it 95” and stopped to check the LJ and ramp and good thing I did. I will be ordering front brake lines today. Another inch and the right front would have broke. Also proved to me that...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

I don't think I have followed up much on the Falcon shocks and Revolution 4.88 gears. I have put over 4,000 miles on the LJ which include 2 trips to Panama City Beach FL (6hrs one way mostly flat some rolling hills) and 2 trips to Smoky Mtn National Park (3hrs one way and heavy elevation with...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Have not done much to my LJ over past few months other than wheel some in North GA. I did add a Teraflex hand throttle and LCA front skids. . Friend's JKU waiting for new gears, lockers and axles after a trip to www.WindRockPark.com destroyed them all. Added a Truss while waiting for the parts...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

YouTube rules as I got this idea from a video. Simple but really cool and useful. Local restaurant did not have dine in today so we did a Jeep thing with my new table. My wife is a respiratory therapist and has 3 12hr shifts ahead this weekend so we really enjoyed a quiet lunch in the shade.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

A couple more flex pics from tonight. Can’t get tires even close to the fenders. Did all my work in small garage. Jeep friend just built this shop behind his house. Electrical done soon and lift on the way. Jeep projects are about to get much easier.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Did a ride at new off-road park in North GA but only one pic that someone sent me. I put it to the test on a rock climb following JKU w/5” long arm and 40’s and no problem. First ride with no tires rubbing and loved it.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Thx. Wish I could take credit for the JL idea. I have done this for a few years because at times they would come loose at interstate speeds. Then I started liking the look so ride that way most often. They just lay on top of my sunscreen cover.

Just noticed the pics of it finished with the MetalCloak never loaded. Here is an overdose of them. And a couple of my upgraded seat covers I added last night.

Thank you. There are some good ones out there. Found a LJ rubi in TN for a friend from WI. He flew down and drove it home.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Well once again a bunch of time (10 months) has gone by since I added any follow up to my build on this forum. To add to it can't believe were in this crazy situation right now. Another thing to add to the long list of why to own a Jeep. Its great for social distancing and healthy for your mind...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Well once again apologies for the long delay. I finally finished it about a month ago and have been out on one trail ride and about 300 miles on the road. I'm loving the look and have been getting a lot of good attention with it everywhere I go. All in I'm very happy with the Currie products...

    NP231 transfer case looks different

Thank you. I like an easy solution. Any idea why this would be on my 06 LJ. My daughter has 06 LJ as well and it does not.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Sorry for long delay. My dad passed away unexpectedly 1/25 and I had lost interest in working on my Jeep and posting anything. I have done a lot over the past couple weeks and will get it on here at some point. Got it all together last weekend to find I needed a SYE and new rear driveshaft (on...

    NP231 transfer case looks different

Adding a SYE to my LJ and just pulled NP231 it out of Jeep to find it looks different than all the videos. Anyone know what this round part is and how to remove it. Thx.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ build 11-2018

Well for the $65 I decided to get the truss even though I don’t really need it. I don’t regret it but much more work added to the build than I expected. Remove UCA bracket Prep axle for welding Tack weld truss (slow not to heat too much) Weld out truss. This is sloooow, I’m scared to...
