What are typical hand tools I need for a TJ?

I'm headed the other direction, maybe Tombstone, White Sands, Palo Duro, Kansas City, Hannibal, MO. As far as stops, my biggest limiting factor is daylight. I need to be home in Illinois by Sunday afternoon. Wish I could find a way to squeeze in another day, but I can't.

What are typical hand tools I need for a TJ?

Reading the history gave me a high degree of confidence that I could fly out and not get surprised. It certainly looks like the Jeep was well cared for. I'm pretty excited to give it a new home.

What are typical hand tools I need for a TJ?

I'm flying to Arizona Thursday with the intention of driving this thing home over the weekend. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/2005-wrangler-unlimited-lj.31080/ Assuming all goes well with the sale, I'm driving 1800 miles home in an unfamiliar vehicle with some stops along the way in...

    Checking for Internal Rust

Here is the best shot of the TC skid I have. The rust seen here on the frame is pretty consistent everywhere. In this shot yo ucan see the rusted bolt poking out from the lip on the TC plate.

    Checking for Internal Rust

TC Skid itself was fine, but 2 of the bolts are going to need to be drilled out.

    Checking for Internal Rust

Feel free to direct me to what I would have thought would be a bunch of threads on this, but I can’t seem to find. I’m looking at an LJ that has a couple spots of cosmetic body rust, and some surface rust on the frame. I suspect rust in the inside of the frame but the current owner assures me...

    LJ with Gr8top

Let's assume for argument sake I could afford to go either way. I could buy a stock LJR and build it up, or I could buy this and build it to similar minus the stock lockers. I suspect I'm in for close to the same end state cost. Apart from the lockers, I don't think there is much if anything...

    LJ with Gr8top

Manual is probably at the bottom of the list of things I care about in the end, and I can't honestly say if I would miss it. If this was a 40k mi Rubicon I'd settle, but given the laundry list it weighs in.

    LJ with Gr8top

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337789113&icep_item=183909953761 I'm intrigued at least since ultimately I'm interested in putting a Gr8top on the LJ I buy, but there are a few things about this build not to like (35s on dana 30s, 90+k miles...

    New From Illinois

My biggest question so far, and one I can’t find a thread for is whether I should care about getting a Rubicon. If I’m going to build it out as more of an exploring/overland and daily driver vehicle, am I going to wish I had the better axles and lockers? Or should I make rust free the priority...

    New From Illinois

Hi all, I've been reading the forum for a while now as I start my search for an LJ. Will wait patiently for the right deal, but until then hoping to suck up as much info as I can.
