Easier to learn about the leak though. I almost had a fire start under the hood and was able to see smoke through the slots in the louvers in time to put a stop to it. A mouse jammed some bread in between the intake and exhaust manifold.

What do you think will happen when you only use the same 3 holes that the PO used?

For a strong install you're likely going to need more than three holes. Most attach through the tub in at least 5 or 6 spots on each side and a few through the bottom. I wouldn't worry about a few extra holes that will be covered by the sliders anyway.

I love my rear detroit but I assume it would be different if I was in a snowy area. It doesn't take long to learn how to drive with the quirks of a detroit locker, and it's nice to know that it just works.

All I know is that the shop in Baja made it happen for $50 out the door and it was whisper quiet. It fell off pretty quickly but that was a rocks fault.

Any muffler shop will be able to set you up with a generic quiet muffler. Just tell them you want it to be quiet and they'll make it happen.

I wouldn't go rock climbing with it unless I trusted my knots.
