    Lost Socket—What Would You Do?

Maybe fish around with a magnet?

Has anyone installed a Klaxon horn on your Jeep?

Maybe the horn went with "Dukes of Hazzard," but they are quite old, with working models built in the 30s and prior.

Has anyone installed a Klaxon horn on your Jeep?

Has anyone here installed a klaxon horn on your Jeep? I've been wanting to get a better sounding horn, and I think one of these would be pretty funny.

About to make a 2200 mile drive

Ok, I see what you're saying. Sadly Google maps mobile doesn't offer too much route customization. I'll have to take a look when I get back to my computer. Right now it's suggesting taking I-40, then cutting through Dallas. Is that area as flat and boring?

About to make a 2200 mile drive

Biloxi, MS. If I'm willing to extend my drive by a day, there's a good rout that misses Texas. Is there a specific reason you say to avoid TX?

    Wiring Rock Lights

Bluetooth shouldn't interfere with the radio station at all. The technologies are on way different parts of the spectrum. There's probably something else going on there.

Jeep Newbie Question (Saving Money on Tires)

Remember that 90% of the internet is lurkers, so anything you see here does not represent the actual community. Do what you feel it's necessary, as long as it doesn't get someone hurt.

About to make a 2200 mile drive

I've got orders to move across the country. 2200 miles in 7 days with all of my worldly possessions. Anything I should be aware of, before I set out? I'm planning on doing an oil change, and bleeding my brakes that I definitely should have bled months ago. Also, recommendations on how to not...

    New Battery Cables

I can't get out there right now as it's storming (first rain I've seen here since July) but it looks like PO decided to replace the terminals with some duralast quick disconnect terminal (they kinda look like the thing you loosen to adjust the seat on a bicycle), but the wire didn't reach, so...

    New Battery Cables

I found these lengths online for some of the cables. How accurate would y'all judge this to be? Positive battery terminal: To fuse box: 10.5" To starter: 31" To alt: 26.5" Negative battery terminal: To block: 33.5" To chassis: 47" I'd check myself, but taking the harnesses out measuring...

    New Battery Cables

I'm looking to get a new set of battery cables to replace the hackjob from PO (I think it might be causing my starting problems). Right now I'm considering crimping my own, or order a set from https://www.custombatterycables.com/ Or https://www.jeepcables.com/ Is there an reason that I...

Replacing Pioneer head unit with new version

in order to swap out my failing (and ugly) Pioneer DEH-6400BT with my newly purchased SPH-10BT, I should only need a Phillips screwdriver, right? The wiring harness should be the same since they are both pioneer units.

Offroad Trail Apps, How to Use Them?

I've got the AllTrails map. I find it easier to use on the computer to find trails. You can filter out OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) trails. There's two down in Big Sur if that's feasible for you, and there's also Hollister Hills State Vehicle Recreation Area. I've only been able to check out the...

Pioneer SPH-10BT head unit with built in phone mount

Well this one is $100 on Amazon. While any double din would be more epensive require either a new dashboard panel or some careful dremeling. I already drive around using my phone to control my head unit, but I have switch between the head unit and the phone, and this one would probably vibrate...

Pioneer SPH-10BT head unit with built in phone mount

I found this interesting head unit that acts as a dashboard phone mount and uses an app on your phone to control the head unit instead of it's own screen. I think I'm going to to get a new head unit sooner than I thought... Makes me wonder why no modern car has this functionality...

OBDII app asking for volumetric efficiency and the brake specific fuel consumption

I picked up a OBDLink Bluetooth OBDII reader and the app is asking me to put in some info about the engines performance. Right now it's just using the default numbers, but I'd like it to report performance as accurately as possible. It's asking for the Volumetric Efficiency and the Brake...
