ZJ tie rod kit that doesn't suck?

Alright, Moog it is! I'd love to go with the Currie kit but I've got too much stuff to fix to spend $600 on the steering (for now)

ZJ tie rod kit that doesn't suck?

Looking for a full kit that doesn't suck? The Crown HD kit (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008VPUOSO/?tag=wranglerorg-20) has pretty poor reviews, from zerks that dont work and TREs that wear super quick. Unfortunately I need a whole kit since I need to replace everything, drag link included.

    Painting new steering knuckles

Got some new OEM steering knuckles to start working on replacing my steering set up. I want to get some paint on them before install, are there any parts of the knuckle that can't/shouldn't be painted? Any insight would be appreciated.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

Good to know. Is it pretty easy to replace? Never messed with one. Unless you're saying I can just loosen it up and readjust it.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

Gotcha, thanks. Replace the whole joint possibly? Yeah the steering is a mess. I'm collecting parts to replace all of it. Have to replace the knuckles because the TRE holes were drilled straight.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

Yeah not great. Been driving like this for a year though and I dont see any marks on the fender or sway bar where the two might have contacted.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

Yeah think we solved one mystery lol. You should see my sway bar angle because of the raised mounts.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

Yep. And I've emailed the shop asking if they modified the sway bar mounts.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

Better pic of the coils. Think they're JK coils? According to metalcloaks website the coil diameter is the same for both TJ and JK.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

Explain to me what you mean by beginning to pit? You're referring to the heim joint right?

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

The steering is a whole nother issue. I'm in the process of swapping everything back to a stock setup because the shop I took it to recommended their custom HD crossover kit that's caused me nothing but problems. This was obviously before I did much research. Coming back to bite me.

Looks like the spring diameter is identical for both https://metalcloak.com/jk-jl-wrangler-coils-4-door-3-5-true-dual-rate-coils-front.html

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

I cant remember if the seats and sway bar links were stock when I got the Jeep a couple years ago, but it seems like a weird thing to fab? I had the lift put on about a year ago. I'll take some different pics of the coils tomorrow.

Front coils rubbing and trackbar hitting diff

05 LJ, multi part issue here: 1. Front coils seem to rub on the lower perches, as well as the the other spot circled in red on the passenger side. Are these factory spring seats? The swaybar links look weird and extended compared to other TJs I've seen. 2. Track bar appears to be hitting the...

    Funky Replacement Steering Knuckle

I'm redoing my steering and unfortunately have to replace the knuckles to do it. I ordered a pair of Crown Automotive replacements and a couple of the holes seem to be drilled off center? I've never paid close enough attention to the OEM knuckles but I'd think the TRE hole for the steering...
