Dealerships in my area won't touch older vehicles. In fact, finding anyone knowledgeable about Jeeps can be a struggle.

It is sudden, no sputter. Once it cools down, it will run fine again at slower speeds. Talked to the mechanic yesterday. He took it on the interstate and had a scanner plugged in while driving. When the Jeep died the scanner showed a total loss of fuel pressure, so he's taking the tank down...

Jeep shuts down at speeds about 60+ mph, after about a half mile. Will run all day idling in the garage and at speeds up to 45 or so. Changed crank and cam sensors with mopar ones, as well as a new battery (needed it anyway). Mechanic is leaning toward PCM. Does that line of thinking track...

The disc you're referring to sticking, is that the thing that's not supposed to be resurfaced? The guy I took mine to was supposedly a Jeep guy, but he resurfaced something that I've read shouldn't be resurfaced.

I dont know the answer to that question. But I'll say that the fact it only happens in first and second led me to think it was a problem inside the tranny, involving those specific mechanisms. But the rebuild wasnt the fix I had hoped for. I hope you get yours fixed soon!

FWIW, I replaced my master and slave with pre-bleed(?) Luk replacements.

I've changed fluids a few times and had it rebuilt, including clutch, and still it persists. It starts rearing its ugly head when it's been driven for a while, so I haven't taken it on any of the road trips I had planned.

Found on the magnet 2 years ago when changing the fluid after purchase. No problems noticed.

When I replaced the clutch master and slave I had to add a couple of rubber washers on the rod Chatles referred to for it to contact the switch.

I'm a spotify guy. That's where all my music is. With the exceptions of Pantera, Sevendust, and Metallica (And Justice for All), there aren't many bands where I like a majority of their songs. So I have 2 or 3 songs from 20 different bands.

I guess "new" implies a lot that I didnt mean to imply. I like older metal, and was looking for bands that were similar in style to my preferences. "New to me" would have been better wording!

Who here hasn't tried to do that?
