ABS locks up with medium-to-hard brake pedal pressure

I'm sorry for not being detailed enough. If I apply medium to hard brake pedal, the tires will skid, even on dry pavement. Naturally, wet pavement or slippery conditions are even worse. Also, there no ABS or brake warning light illuminated in the instrument panel, which leads me to believe...

ABS locks up with medium-to-hard brake pedal pressure

Good morning all, 98 Sahara 4.0, 5 speed, 85,000 miles. I have the optional anti-lock brakes. However, they are far from that in that they will lock up if I apply a medium to hard brake pedal. Also, 31" all-terrains. Any suggestions on a culprit?

Are spark plugs and wires from AutoZone or O'Reilly's any good?

To add to Jerry's recommendation of Autolite plugs, they seemed to always hold up the best during my drag racing days...even to a 250 shot of nitrous...other plugs would last a quarter of the Autolite's.

    Black Steel Wheels

I like the look of them and the price is ridiculously cheap! The primary use of the rig is a back-up vehicle for my daily driver Silverado. That being said, it is also going to be outfitted for an occasional off-road exploration in the Texas Hill Country or certain parts of Arkansas.

    Black Steel Wheels

Thanks all for replies. I guess I shoulda included an aluminum version too. I know in the ATV/SxS world, rotational weight or unsprung weight can rob a lot of power, especially in a heavy mud environment that sometimes requires spinning the tires quickly to clean the tread, but, then again...

Thank you for the invite. That is some beautiful country. Been to Hidden Falls a few times, the last being a few weeks ago during the Polar Run or whatever it was. However, since the Jeep is stock, our group decided to take the SXS's. I really need to start moddin' the Jeep so that it can be...

Hi all, Just joined the forum and thought I would drop a line from Texas. Recently bought our first Jeep product about 10 months ago, a 98 Jeep Wrangler Sahara model, with 80,000 miles on the clock. As a personal requirement, she has the 4.0 in-line 6 cylinder mated to a 5-speed manual...
