Best product to reduce heat from transmission tunnel?

I prefer the butyl rubber like dynamat. I haven't seen any good long term reviews of asphalt products. The stuff with holes from amazon is interesting. Much thicker so the mass may work to keep the vibrations down.

    TJ owners know it all

The tj community is very much like the scion community 10-14 years ago. The vehicles aren't exactly what everybody wants, but the people that wanted them became passionate, fast. Helping everybody figure out what works and doesn't was a huge part of that community, just like here.

I'll never buy a TJ with an aftermarket alarm

It really all depends on the install quality. My scion has one mainly for the remote start capability. I installed it myself 10-12 years ago. It doesn't do anything since the remote was destroyed a few years ago by a valet, but it doesn't cause any problems. Don't get anything installed at best...

Is this rust or just dirt?

Born in Tucson, lived in Arizona my whole life. That dark reddish brown makes me want to go cry in a corner. My jeep spent it's first few years in wisconsin. I spend a lot of time alone in my room with the lights out.

The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

What winch? I think that's an empty crate. Or a wireless winch? (Cableless?)

    Brodozer sighting

I like all the rangers. I'm partial to small. The big boys are fine. not wonderful or exciting, but ok. I'd drive the big boys.

    Brodozer sighting

It's the "skateboard wheels" and oversized exhaust that get me on this one. I really don't know big diesel from my elbow, but these things are usually stock or they hav bigger stacks than a peterbilt. It's not the worst I've seen but it's far from good,

I'll never buy a TJ with an aftermarket alarm

Find the brain, look up the installation instructions (try the12volt.com), work backwards. Good ones are complicated, it may take a while.

What is the best brand of matching spray paint for a TJ?

I really don't think there's much difference. I used duplicolor on mine bacause they carry it it O'Reilly auto parts right down the street, but it's only been a couple months. Not long enough for a real evaluation. Most any rattle can company makes wheel paint that should be fine.

    TJ won't start

Maybe where the battery terminal connectors are attached to the wires. The terminals are usually worse, but those connections can get nasty too.

    TJ or JK?

I ended up buying 2 cars in the last 6 months or so. Ended up buying from dealers because of the flakey/shady people on CL. Listed as private party, show up and it's a lot with 20 cars, a shack, and a fence. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

    TJ or JK?

Do you have a code reader? You can borrow my scan gauge but I'm up in nw phx. That 97 sounds good, but may be a mess. Hard to say for sure, but that's even cheap for here.
