Symptoms - low rpm power and stumble 1900-2100 rpm under load due to a lean condition.
This is a problem I, and many others, have been dealing with for years. It's been reported in a number of forums on different Jeep websites with no tangible solutions that I've found. It may apply to the...
Another thing to consider is that the adjustment bolt can get rusty and bind prior to reaching it's limits when it actually has lots more travel. Spray the bolt with a good penetrant and work it a bit.
It's easy to check the wire colors against an FSM schematic. A lot of threads complain about poor running issues and the 2000rpm hesitation and the thread usually gets torpedo'd by the #3 and 4 injector wire suggestion. If the injector wiring is correct, other things to check;
VACUUM LEAKS...
I hate to disagree with Jerry, but I didn't have good luck with the XP plugs. 3 of the 4 ground electrode "buttons" disappeared creating a slight miss within a few thousand miles.
I tried NGK - not bad. Then on a whim I installed the cheap Champion Copperplus plug listed on decal under the...
If you haven't sorted it out, check out my old thread. I had to trim a few thou off the perimeter of the thermostat flange so it would completely fit into the recess, and I was using the Stant Superstat. It looked and felt like it was seated right, but it turned out to be just hanging up on the...
I've run the TrailerRunners for a few years now. Decent tire at their price point. Their sidewalls bulge out a little more which makes them look larger somehow. Low noise, good riding, seem to be pretty capable off-road unless you go nuts. 40-50K miles is all you can expect.
I am now using a ZDDP additive but only 1/3 of a bottle. I'm keeping the concentration very low. Having a 2.5 allows us to change the lifters without pulling the head. So I installed new lifters but it didn't improve the rattle. After running it for several months, I decided to pull the head...
If your are a Canadian and trying to buy Mopar, check out Rockauto.com. I just had a TPS sensor shipped up to Canada in 3 days (ordered Sunday, delivered Wed) and we are not near any big city. $13, and no duties/extra charges, etc.
The big difference was the newer ones were formed into a basin shape. The older ones had open corners which trapped a lot of mud and debris. They rusted out a lot faster.
How does it lug at 1500rpm under load? Mines been getting rougher for years and has those lean hiccups you mention. The heads coming off my 2001 2.5 tomorrow. After chasing this issue for a long time and throwing all sorts of sensors/parts, it came down to a mechanical issue. New valve springs...
You could try entering your 17-digit VIN at https://www.wermopar.com/ and see what it comes up with. The printed Mopar parts catalogs include part #'s for RHD Jeeps so maybe it might be recognised over here.
Slightly off topic curiosity. While in the (Can) Navy, I made a number of trips which included many port visits from Japan to Australia. It was amazing to see all the variants in each country. North America is definitely not like the rest of the world. Double cabs (4 doors) and diesels in...
