Any recommendations on lockers for Dana 35 on 98 TJ?

X2 100%. If you drive it in the snow, you have to go selectable up front, leave it open in the snow and lock it out when you need it on the trail. Auto lockers in the front in the snow will drastically reduce your ability to steer.

Why did the 4.0 inline 6 go away?

See, there you go thinking! It's always baffled me that jeep offers a V8 in the Cherokee, a diesel in the Liberty,,, but the Wrangler gets no options at all? 2020 we will finally see a diesel option in the wrangler, but only in the Unlimited or Gladiator? Maybe they should hire you or me to go...

Why did the 4.0 inline 6 go away?

Here is a little piece of info I just found, that I had no idea was in the making. If they actually get it going, might see some engine swaps with this in our old TJ's. This was suppose to be offered in the 2019, 1500 pickups.

    4.88, 5.13 or 5.38 debacle

Auto lockers in the front in the snow when giving it gas tend to spin both the front tires, obviously. That in turn takes away your ability to be able to steer. You give it gas turn the wheel and the jeep keeps going straight, can be a bit scary. "My opinion," if your going to drive in the snow...

What was your first car and in what year?

Yes, that's when they decided that "Gremlin" was not a good name for an automobile, IMO.

What was your first car and in what year?

Some things on the internet just make me want to cry... 1971 Javelin 1963 split window, no other year had it. Man what a shame!

What was your first car and in what year?

Oh yeah! I had an old 71 Gremlin when I was a teenager. Ugliest little thing I ever drove, all my friends use to make fun of me, till they needed a ride. It had a 3.3L or a 3.8L inline 6 (I don't remember which). I could sit at a stop light put my foot hard on the brake and stomp the gas, it...

What was your first car and in what year?

I knew the Maverick would come up sooner or later. Now all we need is the Pinto, America's 1st throw away cars,,, or so they thought!

What was your first car and in what year?

1978 Bought a 1964 AMC Rambler for $35. Didn't last long, transmission went out and I let it go. wasn't worth the $$$ to repair. 1979 picked up a 1969 Camaro SS 350 for $700. Still have it.

Can't get clutch to engage on 2004 TJ

By your explanation that would be dis-engage, it's remaining engaged that's why you can't shift while it's running. While it's off if you put it in gear then try to start it. Does the jeep lurch forward?

    Construction entertainment, albeit not cheap

How do you manage to keep your cool? If I were paying those guys I'd be so damn furious, I can't even explain. "Here's $100 for your time considering that I now have to go out and repair all your F ups. now get the hell off my property!"

What minor thing pisses you off more than it actually should?

Because the state gets money from smokers in the form of taxes, notice how your always taxed more heavily on the stuff that your addicted to, like gasoline, alcohol....

Do all Dana 44 axles have limited slip?

I've done 1. I know they can be a pain in the ass, but they are not that bad especially if you are like me and can't afford to pay a mechanic. If you are not mechanically inclined then by all means, take it to your mechanic.

Do all Dana 44 axles have limited slip?

Clutch packs are cheap, like $80. do it yourself. depends on what you want to do with your TJ. Detroit make a nice upgrade to the LSD called the True-Trac, not overly priced. Serious off road you might want to consider a selectable locker if you still want to go back and forth to work.
