    Slow and Steady

Lately I've just been repairing the small things that have built up over the years that weren't immediate problems but basic maintenance items needed to be addressed on a 20 year old vehicle. One of those things what redoing the battery connections. I'm normally not too proud of my shade tree...

    Slow crank when starting

I meant to mention this as well. I used to do the same thing until someone told me. With modern fuel injection, pumping the gas pedal doesn't do anything. Pump the pedal for carburetor engines, hold it down for fuel injection (if you have trouble starting).

Dirtworx Bumper / Tire Carrier installed

That was my picture linked up towards the top. I'll say I've never had a problem with the latch, I adjusted it until I was happy with the amount of pressure it holds when it's closed. As for the hinge, it does get a little tough to open every so often, but all I have to do is pump a little...

    Slow crank when starting

I always have to turn my key on and off 3 times if I want it to crank on the first try. The only time it will crank on the first try is if it was running less than 10-20 minutes ago. The fuel pump is done pressurizing after the second beep so you don't have to wait for the chime to stop every...

    rear axle centered or not

Like they said, it looks fine. If you really want to make sure it's where it needs to be, take the springs out and make sure the bumpstop is contacting the center of the spring pad at full stuff.

    Slow and Steady

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the look so much as the utility of the framless - at least my perceived utility vs the stock style soft top. But I've been thinking more on it and I've kinda swung back to just getting a replacement top for the stock frame. Either way, luckily it's getting to be winter, so...

    Slow and Steady

So my top is starting to give out on me. The back window zipper separated and I had to go to an upholstery shop to get it fixed. Anyway, thinking about a new top come spring time. Maybe a frameless like the Bestop Trektop NX. Any thoughts?

Should I upgrade my Dana 35 axle?

Your new plan you already mentioned sounds like a good one. But I just want to clear something up that sounded a little confusing to me. Whether or not you need new gears has nothing to do with the amount of splines your axle has. Yes, the locker, gears, and axle shafts are all connected, but...

Should I upgrade my Dana 35 axle?

Well I'd suggest you do a little research and figure out what a truss is actually for. If you get a locker, some 30 spline chromoly shafts are necessary as you know. However, I seriously doubt you need a truss with that set up. Also, once again, I'd rethink your choice of locker for the rear...

Should I upgrade my Dana 35 axle?

Yeah I wouldn't do a lunchbox locker in the rear. From what I have heard, they handle very poorly on the road. Also, what size tires and suspension setup are you running that you can keep 4.10 gears, but need the super 35 and a truss?

    Brake upgrade for larger tires?

This is also important. I know I said it's ok to not spend the most you could on pads...but they are your brakes. And the fact of the matter is, you put the bigger tires on the Jeep, it needs bigger brakes. Stock brakes won't cut it anymore, and upgraded pads cost more than stock ones. The extra...

    Brake upgrade for larger tires?

Look into the EBC yellow brake pads. While I will also recommend BMB pads, because brakes aren't a place where I personally care too much about cost, I know it's not always feasible to drop the cash when you really need a replacement set.

    UCF general questions

But back to the original post, I'm interested to see what you go with. I've looked at their engine and t case skid combo, but couldn't find a whole lot of reviews on it. Let us know what you go with and how you like it.

    UCF general questions

I don't think the brakes stay hot enough long enough to do anything. It's not like we're running these things around a track constantly on and off the brakes in a super aggressive manner.
