What are my options for fixing this rotted spring perch?

I dont think so, but I guess it's possible. I was swapping out springs and wanted to straighten out the stops and thats what I saw. Either way, I'm looking to see what others have done. Regardless of what happened, I need new ones 🤣

What are my options for fixing this rotted spring perch?

Rest of the frame seems fine. Surface rust here and there

What are my options for fixing this rotted spring perch?

Looking to replace the perch. I see there are some aftermarket ones. Anyone have any recommendations? I have a 4in lift so I'd probably replace both uppers and relocate them so my coils aren't bowed

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

So I've heard. Keeps all the crap in there. I'll do that

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

Good question. I've got the shock boots on there, and they're rigid, so it's hard to say how much up travel the shocks would allow for. 5 inches sounds like a good amount, no?

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

🤣 theres the million dollar question. Trying to figure it all out. What I can say is that this is not a daily driver. It'll see a mix of trail and road, but this is a "fun" vehicle for me. Right now I have the 3.5in metalcloak springs, and savvy aluminum short arms. Factory skid on there now...

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

You mean to correct the bowing? Plan on it! Trying to figure out the whole setup. Have a recommendation? I'd consider outboarding the shocks if it made sense

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

Thanks for the chat! I'll probably still flip them to save myself from the embarrassment 🤣 I'll probably just wait until I have to pull them to replace the upper bucket. I'll be posting a thread about that if I can't find the info here

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

Right on. Those are questions I can't answer 😂 but thats what I was figuring. I was actually just looking at potentially getting outboard shock mounts because I have to replace one of the upper rear coil buckets since the bump stop cup is rotted through and ready to break off. Right now I'm...

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

Makes sense. Well I'm in it for the long haul, so there's always "next time." Will it really limit my up travel? I know builds can get insane, but for a mildly aggressive trail rig, am I losing a lot?

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

Well thats a bummer I guess. What's done is done. What would you say is bad about it, or not beneficial I should say?

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

LOL is that serious? Wouldn't that be a bad thing?

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

LOL its a dual rate spring, and they're very long to stay seated during articulation. These rear springs offer a 3.5 in lift and are 19 inches long uncompressed

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

That would make me feel better 🙃 I'm obviously going to flip them, but im more curious as to why the lighter rate goes on top. It made sense In my mind for the narrower inside diameter to wrap around the bump stop cup

🤣 is that because it's a land down under?

Installed rear springs upside down: How much of a dumbass am I?

So I feel like a complete idiot. I mounted my rear metalcloak dual rate springs upside down. That's what I get for guessing. How screwed am I? 🤣 downsides?

    Missing throttle return spring?

I did! I honestly can't remember what I did, but I believe I just oiled up that little butterfly spring

    Help with Rubicon locker trouble

Yeah to me it definitely seemed electrical since power seemed like it was being cut off. I've got a wheeling trip to PA planned this weekend, so they'll definitely get put to the test.

    Help with Rubicon locker trouble

So just an update, I swapped out the factory switch for an OE replacement and everything seems to be working as it should. Happy this was an easy fix! THATS AN EXPENSIVE SWITCH THOUGH! Thanks @AndyG for the recommendation
