I been thinking about axle swaps … something to remember. The JK axle is only 2” wider all in. The typical/ideal backspace is 5.2” whereas in a TJ we run 3.75-4.25 backspace. That eats up a bit of difference.
The narrow JL axle would then be 3” wider.
I think some JL axles with after market...
Kinda missed the question ... If I ran currie springs with stock length shocks, how much bumpstop would I need to keep the springs from binding or keep them happy?
Measuring the front of my LJ, I sit at 13.5" coil length, I have 5" of uptravel and 1" bumpstop extension installed. Based on the...
INTERESTING, I been wanting to buy some PRP seats and use the stock material to look a little less aftermarket. I have that khaki interior that’s hard to match. THENNN I saw the serape fabric, looks like a Mexican blanket and seems fun.
They make 35x11x15 KM3 UTV tires. They’re 52lbs and have about a 2000lb weight rating. Are our jeeps slow enough to not exceed their speed rating???
I wonder if this would work? PS: I love my 33x10.50r15’s on my LJ. Great tire for us. But a 35 with those specs is a great fit.
A pair of working fog lights, there is some plastic fading and one lense is cracked, it doesn’t allow water intrusion … perfect to sand down and paint back to perfection if a lens can be found.
They work and I simply replaced with a metal pair for that vintage look.

Looking for a used shift boot in any condition. I really just need the steel frame for the shift boot. These were used on 05 and 06 TJ/LJ with a manual transmission
I have a complete setup to install a soft top on an LJ. By complete it has all brackets, screws, bows, straps, plastic stiffeners, door surrounds, knobs, header… EVERYTHING!
I bought a new top and have the fabric away.
So I performed an RMS the best way I know how. Drove the Jeep a couple days and dry as a bone.
I took a road trip after a few days putting around town and on the way back home 350+ miles the Jeep puked oil, left a spot about 6” in diameter, oil was splattered all along the bottom of the tranny...
You guys ever see an air filter with a gauze pre filter ???
Done a lot of these filters and never seen this type, it might be brilliant to keep bigger chunks away from the finer media ORRRRR it may just restrict flow …
This Jeep had all sorts of weird parts, track bar with a brand stamp I...
I am thinking of going Currie for my front trackbar however I hate the idea of drilling the frame side cast/forged … yes I’ve done it before.
Something like this would be great
So if we return to stock or go another direction, we aren’t screwed or at least having difficulty fabbing something...
I already know where this thread is going, but bear with me.
I was reading through the currie instructions for the 4" lift. Does anyone actually use Curries recommended control arm lengths for their TJ with 4" lift and SYE (Yes the SYE matters to you newbies)??? because I realized they're...
So, I went ahead and splurged … 😬… I was on the phone with Bestop hoping I had some warranty on my SuperTop NX, but I was just a couple years past… all well, I decided to splurge since I was on the phone with Bestop and get the BLACK TWILL for the LJ. Finally we long butt Jeeps hat a quality...
