Transfer case has worms. Should I use ivermectin?

Hi All. Just changed fluid in my transfer case. 2005 Rubicon with the six speed manual. When I pulled the drain plug it looked like there were worms inside. I pulled them out with needle nose pliers. Strips of rubber. I'm guessing it has been rebuilt or replaced at some time and this is...

What did you do to your TJ today?

I'm afraid of magnets causing rust. I've seen it with the magnet signs on work trucks.

    Is this normal operating temperature?

So I changed out the radiator and installed a OEM Mopar unit. What a difference. The temperature sits at 208 at 70 mph on the highway with AC on. No more creaping up. I have an auto transmission and that looks to stay cooler as well although the B&M temperature guage doesn't give me exact...

    Is this normal operating temperature?

Got it. Rad and the fan clutch were on the list a while back when I changed everything else out. When I work my way through those two the entire cooling system will be new with the exception of the heater core. Probably should have just done it all when I bought the jeep two years ago like I...

    Is this normal operating temperature?

Fan clutch causing overheating at highway speeds? Why, because it is staying engaged? I was wondering about that as a possiblility.....

    Is this normal operating temperature?

My jeep is doing similar. It started a few months back. Last year I replaced water pump, thermostat and all hoses, flused the rad and heater core. I run using the OBD II and torque app on my phone. AC on around town it seems ok. 60 MPH on the highway it creeps up around 215. 70 MPH it...

Bought new 42RLE transmission today from Bullripper

Well, I made the move but didn't go with Bullripper or ATS although I apreciate everyones feedback. I went with street smart. My decision was swayed by two things. Street smart had a very good warranty. Street Smart had an office in the Central FL area so if I have issues I can walk in the...

What did you do to your TJ today?

I came accross a 1x3 inch piece of aluminum on Friday so I cut and test mounted it as an overhead mount for CB and Ham radios......seems like it will work well. Next I'll paint it clean up the wires....all while watching Miami beat the Patriots! Strange day indeed. Oh, and added an antenna...

    CB Radio Wiring Question

Thanks for all the input. I ran AWG 10 and it's about 18 FT for power round trip to the mounting location above the rearview mirror. The planned radio is a Kenwood TM-V71a. Needs about 13 amps max. Right or wrong, better or worse, it's just what I did..... KK4EJH

    CB Radio Wiring Question

I haven't seen any pictures of drilling holes in the TJ firewall to run power and antenna cable for a CB or Ham radio. I wanted to keep my power wires as short as possible. Running accross the firewall to the drivers side from the battery added about 5 FT to the run so I drilled holes in the...

Leftover Parts after a Jeep Project

You may be correct. There is a stud in the back for the wire harness clamp. I looked at that but the photo I took prior only shows the stud on one side with no nut on it. Anyone else?

Leftover Parts after a Jeep Project

I know this has happened to others. I just finished changing my valve cover gasket. I removed most of what is on top of the engine, air intake, cables to the valve body, etc. I put all the nuts and bolts in a plastic cup. When I finished the project I still had a nut and unusual shaped...
