    Bad Actuator pin

Mine did the same thing, intermittently. I'd have to push the key into the ignition cylinder with a lot of pressure to make it turn over. Eventually, the actuator pin broke. Luckily, that happened in my driveway.

TC drop with a body lift

I never thought it would be difficult. It's just an eye sore that I'd like to eliminate, if possible. I thought maybe someone on here had a similar set-up. Thanks for your input.

TC drop with a body lift

I got impatient and measured the coil springs in the dark with a flashlight. The rears measure 8", and the fronts measure 12". The front springs have a 2" rubber spacer at the top of the spring. I'm assuming that's a leveling kit? If so, would that require a TC drop? I feel stupid asking this...

TC drop with a body lift

Ok, thanks. I will measure them tomorrow to confirm. The guy I bought it from is in his 70's. He was the 2nd owner. Maybe it had a SL and he had it removed, like you said.

TC drop with a body lift

Thanks for the reply. As far as I know, the suspension is completely stock. It's my first Jeep, so I'm no expert. The 32" tires rub when I pull into a parking spot, if I turn the wheel too far. I would think they wouldn't rub if it had more than 2" of lift.

TC drop with a body lift

I only have a 2" body lift on my 05' Sport with 32x11.5 BFG tires. For some reason, the previous owner did a 1" TC drop. They're 1" square tubing that say Skyjacker on them. Is there any reason for the TC drop with a body lift? I thought that was only needed with a suspension lift? Am I correct...

    Question from a Jeep newbie

Thanks for the replies. I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the amount of brine NJ sprays on the roads around here in the winter.

    Question from a Jeep newbie

I'm guessing by "TJ Starting's" reaction it's pretty bad?

    Question from a Jeep newbie

Here's a couple pics of the rot I mentioned in my first post. The one I originally said was the size of a dime is now a little bigger because I pushed at it with my finger, and some more rot broke away. The other picture is the rot I mentioned on the driver's side frame rail just behind the...

    Question from a Jeep newbie

Thank you both for your replies. I will post some pics when I get home. I bought the Jeep from a friend of my family who's in his 70's. It's never been off-road. The top hasn't ever been off according to him. I guess I trusted him too much. Other than the previously mentioned rot on the frame...

    Question from a Jeep newbie

Hello all. I bought an 05' Sport back in October. It's a silver 4.0L automatic hardtop with 83k miles, 2" lift and 32" BF Goodrich tires. It had 79k when I bought it. I had noticed what looked to be a spot of surface rust on the passenger side frame rail where the front of the skid plate bolts...
