    Mild lift recommendations for 33s

Buddy of mine just bought a ‘06 TJ Rubicon (6 speed). Wants a mild lift and 33’s. Figure there’s been enough similar builds to where there are some pretty standard recommendations for lifts. Will see light duty off road, nothing crazy. Ride quality is up there on the list of priorities...

Matt's Off-Road Recovery Charged With Fraud, Filing False AAA Claims

Not these days. Getting any kind of sanctions for Probation or Parole offenders these days is next to impossible. All part of the ‘criminal justice reform”.

Time for a trailer for my LJ

i have an 18’ PJ car hauler that’s served me well for about 15 years now. Only regret is not going bigger than the 3500lb axles on mine. A built LJ with tools and spares pushes the limit of my trailer. Not a fan of continuously running things at the upper end of their working limits.

Risk of Dana 35 / 30 axles with upgraded chromoly axles on 35s on green / blue trails?

I’ve busted a ball joint on a Rubi 44 on 35’s and was not hard on it. That was with a stock 4.0 too. Obviously there’s lots of variables and no hard set rule to follow, but 35s will strain ball joints and bearings more obviously. When/if they break is always the unknown at the end of the day.

Risk of Dana 35 / 30 axles with upgraded chromoly axles on 35s on green / blue trails?

35s are also going to put a lot of stain on those ball joints. Broken axle is usually an easy trail fix. Ball joints can create an interesting wake of destruction when they bust.

Thanks for the kind words. In a nutshell, it's a Clayton 4" long arm kit with a 1" body lift. Dana 60 front, a full float 9" in the rear, both with ARB's and 5.13s and a 65" WMS width in back and 65.5" in front. Factory 6 speed manual and factory rubicon transfer case. Antirock swaybar in...

Colorado Looking for a Jeep shop in the Denver / Boulder area

ive heard from lots around here that Filthy Motorsports is the place to go for shock tuning. I’d assume they do gears as well, but have no direct experience with them. https://www.filthymotorsports.com/

    Flush mounted tail lights

Very easy. Same three wires you’d run on any new tail light (ground, brake, and stop/turn), then just one extra wire to trigger the reverse lamps.

You have been warned (It used to be a Bronco!)

It’s amazing the number of rollovers on Black Bear. It is not a hard trail at all, but it can provide brutal consequences if you make rookie mistakes. It’s just a very scenic trail which I guess attracts a lot of people with little four wheeling experience.

    Wrangler vs TJ

1997 actually. while the YJ was continued to be built and sold in 1996, it was still sold as a ‘95. There is no 1996 Jeep Wrangler. At least that’s how I’ve always heard it.

On this we finally agree. I never proclaimed lifting a tire to be cool. I just posted a pic as encouraged by this thread.

    Wheelstand photos

Over the past 25 years of wheeling some of the most difficult trails around, I’ve certainly lifted some tires. If you haven’t then I guess you are just as cool and special as you think you are. Get over yourself.
