Cluthch and brakes quit working at the same time

I was pulling the neighbor's car out of a little mudhole the other day and while clutched in waiting for him to hook up the tow strap, my jeep began to crawl forward. (It was in 4 low) At the same time I noticed my brake pedal acting up, like it was not working (getting soft). I killed it, took...

Power being shut off to California

Down here in hurricane alley we have whole home generators that run on propane. They turn on automatically when the power shuts off. Pretty sweet to have. There are several brands that produce them (Guardian, Cummins, Kohler, etc...) Pretty pricey initial cost 5-6k but easy maintained after...

Do it for the "Gram": How social media has ruined overlanding

The "support me on patreon" crowd with every social media profile they have stuck all over the side of their vehicle make me want to leave an area if they're there. A travelling gear sponsor basically. Crawling around bivouac sites trying to talk you into the latest overlandy gadget.

    Rough idle after highway use

No code. Or no visible code. It’s like one of the cylinders isn’t firing. But only for 30 seconds or so. Then it clears itself up. I’ll try the insulation fix as well. I think I saw a tsb about that somewhere.

    Rough idle after highway use

After an while of highway use 55-70 mph my Jeep idles rough for a few minutes. Usually if I stop for gas or whatever. It goes away but I def have a cylinder misfiring after startup. Could this be heat soak? I’m changing my plugs today to see if it remedies it. 2002 4.0 119,xxx miles

Does anyone have experience with EAG tube fenders?

I have some similar, I believe mine are barricade, but probably all made in the same factory. I live in Louisiana so the roads never get salted. I have noticed though in the corners, where you would think powder coating would be hard to apply, some small rust areas. They work well, I've rubbed...

    Mounting a Jerry Can

I have some mounts that 45 up and out similar to Mr Bills. They work good unless your tire mount supports aren't on a 45, but then all you have to do is some minor fabricating to get the angle correct. I can't remember where I got them, I'll dig around a bit. I also run a small generator at...
