03 Rubi rear driveshaft rebuild question

I’m changing the u-joints in the rear driveshaft. Per the Denny’s chart, I need 5-795x for position 5 and 5-793x for position 6. Position 5 went in without issue, but now putting in position 6 there appears to be a lot of play. See the video. Is that ok to install or am I missing something here?

Park lights, tail lights and dash lights not working but everything else is

I’d recheck the fuses. I’ve had this happen before. I believe it’s fuse 1 behind the glove box.

Another where's this vibration coming from thread

Unfortunately, I have a new vibration in the TJ. I’ve spent the past week or so trying to nail down the exact conditions under which it happens so I could come here for some advice as to what to look for before I go out and roll around on the concrete in single-digit Michigan temps to start...

    2012+ JK common issues

I considered that, but it looked like I needed to register separately for that forum. Is that correct?

    2012+ JK common issues

I'm strongly considering adding a 4-door JK to the fleet and reserving my TJ for wheeling trips. The JK would be used as a DD as well as to tow a popup for family camping trips. Having the JK would also afford me more time to fix / upgrade whatever breaks on said wheeling trips on the TJ...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Put mine through its paces at Holly Oaks - our local ORV park. This was the first opportunity I had to test out the newly installed Antirock. What a huge difference this made keeping all four tires in the ground.

    Best 16" A/T tire?

I’m running a 285/75 R16 E range KO2s on my Moabs. As you mention, there are very limited choices in C range. I run mine around 26 psi (a little more if I’m going to be on a long highway trip to get to a camping / wheeling spot), and overall I’ve been very satisfied with on-road comfort and...

Michigan West Branch / St Helen — November 6th

I brewed beer for a little while. My wife’s complaints about the smell outweighed the enjoyment I got making and drinking the beer. The smell never bothered me a bit.

    Looking at a trail radio

This is really surprising to me. When I first got my Jeep I was debating what to get (CB, Ham, GMRS, etc.). From reading thru the forum, I was under the impression most everyone had moved on from CB. I ended up taking the advice ‘get whatever most of your friends have,’ which I think is...

GenRight Fenders with OEM Air Intake

I’ve been checking these out too. It looks like you’d have to remove the cowl every time you want to clean the filter? I think that would lead to me never cleaning it.

    Frame Rust

Bummer. If this was me, I'd be taking it in and getting new sections welded in. I'm taking mine in for some rust repair on the tub next week (I know, not as serious of an issue). I debated trying to fix myself, and ultimately decided I wanted it done right (weld in part, paint match, etc.)...

Are K02's still the go to tire?

I’m another one that’s had a great experience with my K02s. 285/70R16, I believe, and the measured out exactly how they should have. I had a set of the original K0s on an XJ back in college and had a good experience with those so I went back to the well for more.

    Michigan Silver Lake Sand Dunes

I really like the dunes. The wheeling is fun, of course, and the area in general is great for the kids. They have a ton of fun at the beach, and there are lots of great campgrounds in the area.

Michigan West Branch / St Helen — November 6th

I’m booked for a wedding this weekend, otherwise I would be interested. Please do take some photos and let us know how the area is. I’ve seen people mention it in Facebook groups, but I’ve never been there.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the photos! Unfortunately I took the photos of a buddy’s Jeep on the trip so it’s not my rig. He’s on here though I should have him enter.

    Drummond Island Michigan

I have no idea how it would be in the winter. There are some mud-free trails, but i would guess based on this trip that all of the harder ones are going to have some mud on them at any time of year.

    Drummond Island Michigan

I believe they are open year around, although not 100% sure. If you’re tagging along on a planned group trip I’m sure you’ll be fine.

    Drummond Island Michigan

It was deep. I went first, but I was fairly confident we’d make it thru given that it’s a fairly famous part of the trail run quite often and the people at the island’s welcome center told us we’d ‘probably’ be ok.
