SOLD Mamba MR1X wheels (5) - Fairfield, CA

I was hoping we have enough folks here from northern CA that I wouldn’t need to bother shipping. When I called UPS their estimate was very high and I haven’t researched it further. If someone wants to figure out the best method, send me the money and tell me where to drop them off, that could...

Vision 531 Sport Lite wheel question

I actually do have some new Sahara fender flares to get a little more coverage on the front wheels since they are 1” wider than my Sport flares. I need to get them painted and was debating black (semi gloss, satin, or matte), dark khaki (like they are now which matches the hard top) or light...

Need suggestions on a quieter street tire

Vision 531 Sport Lite. They look almost like steelies but they are aluminum. There’s a thread where I was asking questions about them before. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/vision-531-sport-lite-wheel-question.26744/ At first I bought Mamba wheels but then they wouldn’t fit with the...

Vision 531 Sport Lite wheel question

I ended up getting these wheels because the Mambas couldn’t fit the locking hubs I installed.

Need suggestions on a quieter street tire

A few mentions of the Firestone Destination A/T. I have the X/T, which I think is intended to be an updated version of the A/T. Mine are 31x10.5 and they are super quiet. I do prefer the look of the KO2s I used to run. I think my next tires will be 33x10.5 KO2s.

Installing Yukon WU-08 Hub Kit (Similar to WU-07 Also)

A couple weeks ago I finished this install with the WU-07 kit. I took a bunch of pictures and figured it might be helpful to post some here for folks to see the slight differences compared to the WU-08 kit. @Irun also has a lot of great pics and info in his second build thread on page 16...

    WSJ article on YJ

When I’m working on my Jeep it’s often an emotional struggle. But different emotions. The kind that make you yell, “Shit!”, “Son of a ...”, etc.

We all need to buy and hold. Or should we start saying HODL.

    WSJ article on YJ

Haha I resemble that remark. I’m not in marketing for clothing but definitely in a field that is not exactly filled with big burly types. And before my Jeep I had hardly done anything mechanically. However, I did learn to drive a stick in about 20 minutes in a Nissan Sentra from a used car...

    WSJ article on YJ

I figured this would stir some good discussion. You guys nailed it I think on several fronts. What I intended in linking it was to highlight the phenomenon that these jeeps are becoming a sort of status symbol for certain kinds of “normies” who want to check certain boxes. Not that there is...

    WSJ article on YJ

Eh I was able to read it once now it seems like it’s behind a paywall. Here’s the text: Jonathan Baker, 40, marketing director for Sid & Ann Mashburn, a renowned men’s and women’s clothier in Atlanta, on his 1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ), as told to Mike Jordan. I’d always wanted a Jeep. They just...

Just saw an article in WSJ praising older Jeeps. This type of publicity helps keep up resale values. https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/driving-this-1995-jeep-wrangler-is-like-high-fiving-somebody-11619877601

A lesson learned—keep it light and nimble!

I was just confused. Well, I still am confused, but I used to be too! I was thinking that turning the front driveshaft by hand would cause the axle shafts to both rotate the same. When the driver side didn’t rotate as much or at all, I assumed there was a problem. I’m probably just trying to...

A lesson learned—keep it light and nimble!

I don’t believe any seals are missing. I think I just don’t have the inner axle shaft all the way into the differential far enough for the splines to engage fully.
