    Starter Motor

My starter motor sometimes wouldn't run. So I removed the stater motor assembly and started dismantling the components. I found one of the magnets in the electric motor (part # 56041914AC) had shattered and small parts of the magnet had attached themselves in various places. I know I can buy a...

Can the blower motor resistor unit still be faulty despite it looking ok?

The blower on my 05 TJ is showing all the symptoms of faulty resistor. Only goes on one speed (second one) but blows at full speed. I have pulled the resistor but all the coils look fine. Can the resistor unit still be faulty despite it looking ok? Cheers Bob

Screwed up big time towing my Jeep

My 2005 TJ has a 42RLE transmission. I have recently been towing it on an A frame. Prior to towing I always put the transfer box in N and the Auto trans mission in N and have towed it many times like this. Some times up to 500 miles at speeds up to 60mph. When I arrived home after this last...

    Replacing A/C Clutch

I have removed the 10mm centre bolt but the front clutch plate will only move forward about 1/4" then stops. It feels like there is a circlip stopping it but no videos for the MC 447300-713 clutch removal show any retaining clips. The front plate is supposed to just slide off once the 10mm is...

Transmission lines ripped out of radiator while off-roading

Last weekend I was off road and something hooked into my Transmission cooling lines and tore them out of the bottom of my radiator. Obviously this destroyed the radiator and I was immobile. It was not particularly difficult terrain. I bellied out on a few clay high spots which I eventually just...

    Rubicrawler installation problem

I'm in the process of installing my new Rubicrawler into my 2005 TJ. I am trying to remove the spud shaft using the recommended custom puller method but the spud shaft refuses to break free. Do these shafts normally require a lot of force to break them free?

Anything else I should do while I have the transfer case out?

I'm fitting the Rubicrawler on my 2005 TJ primarily because wheeling in our areas are very steep, and some are for long durations so its hard to keep the brakes cool. Also I am always catching up on those ahead of me on the trail if i rely on my engine breaking (Low 1) I have the only Jeep in...

Questions about tie rod end boot replacement

The boots on my 2006 TJ ( done only 50K miles) are cracked. There is no movement in the steering linkage. I know that providing I grease these regularly it will keep dust and grit out of the joint. The problem I have is that a few months ago I was a bit careless when greasing. One pair of...
