    4.0, 42RLE, NP241OR High Speed Vibrations After Re-Gear to 4.88 or Deeper

Pzilly good input. If all the LJ/42rle owners want to call out their build (precisely) and what they have tried I am willing to build a spread sheet to try to point out similarity’s. The recent conversation has been about harmonics, although we have multiple transfer case skid plates included...

    4.0, 42RLE, NP241OR High Speed Vibrations After Re-Gear to 4.88 or Deeper

Here is an observation of other LJs with automatic transmissions that I test drove recently that do NOT have the drone above 62 mph. Both of them had spacers between the frame and the skid plate. One LJ had a bent stock skid plate and the other was a Clayton long arm skid plate with 4.88s...

    4.0, 42RLE, NP241OR High Speed Vibrations After Re-Gear to 4.88 or Deeper

My concern is more the vibration slowly damaging bearings, splines and seals not so much the annoying drone. Blaine, Dave or those that are mechanically knowledgibe and experiencesd with this specific issue, do you believe this harmonic issue can cause mechanical wear with known balanced...

    4.0, 42RLE, NP241OR High Speed Vibrations After Re-Gear to 4.88 or Deeper

FYI I just helped my buddy buy a local LJ w/42rle. I test drove 3, 2 of the 3 did not have our issue all auto....still a mystery... My build 4” currie, 1.25” BL, UCF alum. Tummy tuck w/alum engine skid, 5.13 gears, ARBs, new stock transfer case mount, everything new with SYE and both CV...

Did you stick with 4.5 on 5 or go to 5 on 5? I believe your front hubs and u joints are now weaker if you did not upsize to the 5 on 5. Congrats though, I still have the drown on my LJ

Hey Chris, maybe you can get Blaine to chime in here since he is a expert and has solved and seen many of these issues and built many, many, many jeeps.

    4.0, 42RLE, NP241OR High Speed Vibrations After Re-Gear to 4.88 or Deeper

Yes Chris that would be nice. I thought about going to HP Dana 30....but hard to find one in a yard that is not bent. Bob, IMHO and going with and I agree with your theory, the TT would help F transfer case yoke angle(and/or removable of MML) but raise DS angle due to increased height relative to...

    4.0, 42RLE, NP241OR High Speed Vibrations After Re-Gear to 4.88 or Deeper

Bob, thank you for the explanation on the TT. That makes since. I forgot the motor mount is fixed and the rear rotates up with a TT. I should have thought about it more before I posted. None the less at least the rest of you have my set up as an example. Also my set up only has harmonic and not...

I have heard of that bearing as well....somewhere buried in a forum..... Also to clarify, I don't have steering wheel vibration...mainly the harmonic drone

    4.0, 42RLE, NP241OR High Speed Vibrations After Re-Gear to 4.88 or Deeper

I have a 06 LJ 42RLE and got harmonic vibs after regear. It starts at about 62 and is the worst at 67ish. I have 5.13 Revolution Gears, 4" Currie SA, 1"MML, 1"BL, Tummy Tuck on 35s. I have NEW CV drivelines front and rear.I have had them both rebalanced...it is not the wheels and tires. If I...

    Re-geared, now I have a vibration above 50 mph

For reference, my brand of gears are Revolution. Based on my research, they had the best tolerances and manufacturer is higher quality then average.

    Re-geared, now I have a vibration above 50 mph

By the way, no vibs at 80 in my 99 Auto TJ with 3.73 gears, 4” lift, 33” tires, SYE and 1” lowered stock skid. Never took out the skid spacers to see what happens, kinda scared actually. Ain’t broke, don’t fix it. FYI 06 LJ is also auto

    Re-geared, now I have a vibration above 50 mph

Have not posted recently. I have vibs on a 06 LJ after 5.13 regear. Isolated it to the front drive shaft. If I remove F. DS, it goes away. F. DS is new and has been rebalanced. Played with pinion angle many times under and over zero delta. It does make a difference but does not solve problem...

A 100% unbiased review of the Currie 4" short arm suspension & the Currie Johnny Joint

This is what is sad about this forum, other forums and our society at times, perfect example is our elected president. So quick to go negative and make comments with out due delagence. The title is unbiased review and that is what I provided about Currie as well as MC. I pointed out things...

A 100% unbiased review of the Currie 4" short arm suspension & the Currie Johnny Joint

FYI I was not clear on Currie spring sag/break-in. To be clear the rear springs are different RH side to side over 3/4”. All control arms are anally accurate to the milimeter.
