98 2.5 barely makes it to 65 MPH

Thank you all for your help. The Jeep was in shop because I thought head gasket leak. There was no head gasket leak, but one hose was leaking causing coolant to disappear. I have receipts with 5.13, never checked if it is 5.13. I don’t think reputable garage will cause issue. The Speedo unit was...

98 2.5 barely makes it to 65 MPH

I got my Jeep back and the ride is bumpy or floaty or wavey. I’m ready to order Rancho 5000x. The shop recommended fox but thats way too expensive. I checked the site and it says 5000x don’t fit 98 TJ. Is there any specific model number I should check?

I don’t think I could even touch 65, and you going 70 with 35’s? is there any other things upgrades in yours? yes. It’s scary because at 55-60 it waves like I’m in a boat. :)

Thank you! I didn’t know and I will take off the sticker. :) you are right, rough country lift kit shocks. Currently it’s in shop and I’m looking for changing shocks to Rancho or Bilstein or fox shocks. I have 26 psi and the tooth speedo gear was changed. I agree and I don’t expect it to run...

4.0 air intake tube on 2.5?

Thank you. I guess it’s not a bad idea to try it out. :) I Wasn’t sure because there is different cold air intake kits for 2.5 and 4.0. I don’t know the difference if it’s space or connectors. I kinda thought if I change the throttle body in that case it should definitely fit. I soon realized...

4.0 air intake tube on 2.5?

Thank you. I read a lot of posts and I see cold air intakes aren’t recommended. I also started to look for stock replacement but the used stock 2.5 itself is costly. I wanted to keep stock and thought if I could just use 4.0 hose started from throttle body and use tube to connect. it looks...

4.0 air intake tube on 2.5?

Thank you. My question is if I can use 4.0 air intake assembly on 2.5? The fitting, length, location or concerns? I’m not changing the throttle body or the filter setup. It’s stock 2.5 1998. It’s only tube and hose what I want to use from 4.0.

I have CEL and I noticed my air intake box is melted. I read a lot about cold air intake and thought if I could just use stock air box with different tube. To avoid open filter but new tube kit. I could buy 2.5 cold air intake kit from airaid or aem or rough country and try to link it into...
