Korra, a daily driven and trail ready Sahara

Well this post is not 100% Jeep related but the Jeep will now be sharing daily driver duties with my new toy. Welcome everybody to my new to me 2004 Evo VIII SSL! Having another car means i can send it harder on these San Diego trails and not have to worry about driving the Jeep to the hangar...

I can tell you for certain they fit well, i have one as my drivers seat. Extremely comfortable too, ive done the Rubicon with it and drove from San Fransisco to San Diego in it earlier this week. @Alex01 great choice in seats, I love mine!

New changes! To prep my Jeep for an upcoming move to San Diego I had my dad do a little work on the sound system. For a head unit i went with the Alpine ilx-w650 along with the Metra double din install kit which Crutchfield hooked up a good deal on when ordering as a set. Since I havent been...

I really liked those tires, they had a shit load of grip on rocks and in mud. I wish i could comment on the longevity and wet weather handling of them but i never put that many miles on them. If i remember right they measured very close to 35 inches but ill see if i can have my dad measure them...

Sorry it took so long to reply, you caught me a few days after i left for Navy bootcamp. That tire carrier has no supports on the inside, it uses the same nutstrip the stock tailgate hinges do. If you do end up going with that tire carrier id recommend corners to strengthen it cause after...

Ive done a few gnarly trips with the 35's and the dana 30, namely the Rubicon, and i couldn't be happier with how its held up so far!

Im still running the stock dirty 30 with chromoly shafts, spartan locker and 4.56 gears. Holds up nicely with the 35’s

Spent this Tuesday and Wednesday out on Deer Valley trail again. As usual it was a fun couple days, even got pops cj5 out on the trail for the first time in a while! Both Jeep’s held together pretty well, my tj had no problems so i cant complain. My dads cj lost a locking hub but other than that...

Good choice on that bumper, I ran their rear for years and it held up great! Im gonna vote a gloss black powdercoat for that one

Thanks! So my Jeep has a spartan locker in the front, i like it as it does its job in the terrain i deal with but it is terrible in snow. As far as the rear goes i have a detroit trutrac which does a damn good job considering its not a true locker.

Ive been looking at those M.O.R.E. dead pedals for a while, i might have to pull the trigger on one for the drivers side sooner rather than later!

Earlier this week my footwell bulb on the drivers side died. Decided to get some cheap LED’s on amazon and see how it looks. They came out pretty good, definitely brighter than the stock bulbs which will be nice when getting in at night. Overall it was a cheap easy change that should make the...

Deer Valley finally opened this week so I decided to give it a run and see how the trail is this year. It was a blast and it really is a beautiful trail! It was fun getting to do this trail again, saw some interesting stuff like a bone stock, brand new (on paper plates) 4runner and a few quads...

Rubicon definitely is a fun one, theres some other good trails close to it as well. Would definitely be a fun trip!

I definitely want to go to 4.88’s which will probably be the next thing (it’ll be a while though) and im thinking about a stroker motor, ahould be able to pass smog and add a good 50hp and 50ft-lbs which would be plenty to make it nicer to drive heading up into the sierras.

Today took the Jeep out and did Slick Rock trail. This was my first trip there on the 35’s and they really made it a cake walk. We didnt take too many pictures as i was just trying to have a good time but heres what i got. I couldnt be happier with the on trail performance on this Jeep, it has...
