UPDATE: just bought an used original OEM Bosch assembly on ebay.com for about $100 (incl shipping) and probably customs and will order the original Bosch pump plus strainer on amazon for about $150 (incl shipping and customs) .. put it all together and have hopefully a long lasting working pump...
