    OME 2” lift questions

I’m trying to finish a few projects on the Jeep. One is installing an OME 2” lift thats been sitting on a shelf for quite awhile. Do the springs labeled “A” go on the drivers side, and the springs labeled “B” go on the passenger side? Should I just get an adjustable track bar (they’re not that...

Why are so many oppose to putting a jack on the hood?

Better jacks than a classic hi-lift? Please enlighten me. While hi-lifts are very effective, I also think they’re kinda dangerous.

Why are so many oppose to putting a jack on the hood?

So, why are so many opposed to putting a high lift jack on the hood? Seems like it puts a fairly heavy item between the axels, keeps it out of the dirt, and fairly easy to access. What am I missing?

Easy install stereo head unit options?

Does anyone have a stereo head unit that they particularly like? My factory unit was shot so I replaced it with a “reconditioned“ JVC unit from Crutchfield. Hate it. Tiny buttons with tiny script and blue back lighting on a black chassis. I have sixty year old eyeballs. i use an iPhone and...

    Wrench for door pin nuts

Went with the first suggestion. Used blue painters tape to avoid damaging the paint on the nuts or the tub (it’s a Jeep, why am I concerned by a scratch or two, sheesh) through the nuts in a baggy which is now in the glove box in case the Jeep survives to be sold on but I’m not doing anything else.

    Wrench for door pin nuts

I think I once saw a non-metallic wrench for removing the nuts that hold the door pins in place. I’d like to remove my doors from time to time and it seems that a normal wrench would destroy the paint. Can no longer find the non-metallic wrench. How do others handle this. TIA Philip

Does anyone not run a rear sway bar?

I put mine back on. No advantage (not much anyway) off road and less stable on the freeway seemed like a no-brainer to me. My Jeep is my daily driver and not highly modified.

Does anyone not run a rear sway bar?

I actually tried my Jeep TJ with no rear sway bar. Little or no difference off road slightly less directional stability on the freeway

Does the TJ need a rear sway bar?

Some stuff I should have mentioned in my original post. My Jeep has a 2.5” OME HD lift and I’m running 31” All Terrain TAs. I also have front sway bar disconnects. Well yesterday I disconnected the rear sway bar and tried the Jeep off and on road. Disconnecting the sway bar does appear to...

Does the TJ need a rear sway bar?

I haven’t had a problem finding rear disconnects. Not a huge selection like for the front, but they are out there. I think they’re not widely used because you pretty much have get under the vehicle to use them. It’s not hard to come from a day in a Jeep dirty/muddy but one doesn’t really want to...

Does the TJ need a rear sway bar?

OK, there is not a consensus on this issue. Since sway bar disconnects are very commonplace on off-roader TJs I assume that many folks enjoy the increased articulation that removing the bars from the suspension gives. However using rear disconnects is a PITA. I’m going to pull mine and test it...

Does the TJ need a rear sway bar?

Thank you for your response. For my money a TJ is more about slowing down and enjoying the world around you. Did a fair bit of time with Porsches and BMWs and met many nice police officers and highway patrolmen. Done with that. 😊

Does the TJ need a rear sway bar?

Thanks, that was what I hoped to hear. Rear sway bar disconnects are a pain.

Does the TJ need a rear sway bar?

Does the TJ need it’s rear sway bar. Chucked the one on my Xterra but it is a leaf spring vehicle with a longer wheelbase. Would freeway speed handling be too compromised on a TJ? Thanks Philip

TJ won't return to idle speed

My Jeep does something weird. Some times when you lift off the gas, it spools down to 1500 rpm EXACTLY and stays there for a second or two before returning to idle speed. When it decides to do this, it does every time you lift off the gas from the moment you start it until the moment you turn it...

Is an AR rifle really ideal for home defense?

Still like my Baker. Only one shot but it will drive tacks to about 200yds and you want to imagine the damage a .610 ball will do? Also the sword bayonet is pretty cool too.

so what do we think of BDS lifts?

Thinking of buying this. https://waldoch.com/store/performance/suspension/lift-kits/bds-3-ultimate-lift-kit-97-02-jeep-wrangler-tj.html?gclid=CjwKEAjw9_jJBRCXycSarr3csWcSJABthk079YkMcAoRQhPMemxq51eIFStboWqH7HK_1Bm57lmIEhoCC-_w_wcB Seems like the most complete kit I can find.

Keeping dogs in the Jeep when the top is off

What are folks doing to contain their dogs? I don't really like the cargo net around the roll bar look. I'm also not crazy about using web or wire to tie them in. Anybody figure out something they like? TIA P.
