    OEM Rear Axle Bracket Kit

Probably picking up a Rubi rear Dana 44 thanks to @Irun . The only known issue is it was set up under an XJ so it needs TJ brackets welded back on. I've got a buddy who is going to help me out with the welding, but I'm wondering what the best bracket kit to get is. I've heard bad things about...

    How does backspacing affect steering?

I've seen it referenced in a couple of different places by a couple of different people. I think Blaine said it which certainly got my attention. Do wheel spacers/increased backspacing on the front axle do something wonky to your steering geometry? If so, why? Just trying to learn.

SOLD Mopar Grille Support Bumpers (and screw moparpartsoverstock.com)

I ordered these things end of April and it said ships in 3-5 days. 2 weeks later I start emailing them asking where my stuff is. No reply. End of May I ordered a pair from eBay and emailed moparpartsovertock.com and told them to cancel my order since they never even bothered to reply to me...

    Plane crash today

It's always disturbing when this happens while we are working. I'll post only what's already on the news as not get myself in trouble, but it's pretty straight forward. Cessna Citation jet got intercepted over DC. Fighter pilots saw the occupants slumped over/passed out almost certainly from...

SOLD NV231 transfer case with Advanced Adapters SYE installed

This is my old (factory) NV231 that had an Advanced Adapters SYE installed on it about 5 years ago. 1998 4.0 and AX15 from the factory btw. Worked fine when pulled. I just rebuilt one I grabbed off FB Marketplace and installed a JB SS SYE while I was at it so I could lengthen my shaft (not...

Savvy 1.25" Body Lift vs JKS (pics)

I was doing something else that required removing the bolts from my JKS BL and had a Savvy kit sitting on the shelf. Decided to throw it on because why not and a buddy could use my old JKS BL. Just thought I'd share some illuminating comparison pics. Also was wondering if anybody knows the...

    Stupid NP231 questions

I just finished up the rebuild and JB SS SYE install on a spare NP231 I picked up on Facebook. Couple of random dumb questions: - Would it be a bad idea to fill it with fluid now (I capped the breather) to check for leaks before I install on? Bonus points for not having up get messy doing it...

JB NP231 rebuild kit seal direction

It seems obvious at first to me but I've made those mistakes before 😆 What direction should this seal go in? It's a double lip seal and looks little like the original so I want to be sure. Second from the bottom pic or bottom pic?

Are unevenly worn tires bad for diffs?

The shortest and one of the more expensive wheeling trips I've ever done; I took my Jeep into the woods behind my house to help a neighbor pull some half downed trees caught up in other trees down so we could chomp them up. I'm seriously 25' off my driveway and I hear "PFFFT!" and feel the Jeep...

    Front end pop / clunk

For background, I have recently (in the past year or so) installed rebuilt Curry control arms upper/lower/front/rear, Currectlync steering, Curry Track bars, and a SwayLoc. The noise didn't start immediately after I installed any of these. It's been at least 6 months with all the above parts...

    How much exposed shaft?

Asking for a friend. Seriously. He bought a hot mess of a Jeep despite my warnings. 3"? lift with an 8.8 rear axle, no SYE, using a transfer case drop, and "new" rear driveshaft right before he bought it. He complained about a kind of slight knocking noise coming from the underside. After...

Installed head rests and seat heaters in rear seat

Just thought I'd share. I cut the tops of the frame of the back seat from a 2007 Ford Escape? (can remember) because they had the ability to tumble forward. Welded them in to the frame of my rear seat, added seat heaters, and took it to the upholstery shop. I misplaced the caps that go over...

    Wiring inside windshield frame

I already added an auto dimming mirror and I'm thinking about moving my detachable GMRS radio faceplate to the windshield frame above the rear view mirror. I'm wondering if I can drill a couple holes in the windshield frame and run the wiring inside it. It would be the mirror power wiring and...

    Fox (Mustang) Hunting

So I crashed my dad's fox body 5.0 when I was 16 being stupid (surprise surprise right?). I have long thought about surprising him and replacing it one day. Recent circumstances have made me want to revisit this idea. If I were TJ shopping I'd know just what to look for and what a good price...

Harbor Freight red toolbox rattle can

Does anybody know a sissy paint that matches the red HF tool boxes? Just a stupid project to paint my little beer fridge to match, but the closer the better so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

    Okay to twist the frame?

An odd title to match an odd question. I have been doing what many here probably do and park half on a snow bank at work because nobody else can and I get a front spot. Plus I think it bugs my boss but I digress 😆 I think I noticed yesterday that the frame is actually twisted and flexing a...

    New steering box is notchy

I just replaced my Durango steering box (that I never liked) with what is supposed to be a new Lares 11353 box. I bled it with the engine off by sawing the steering wheel back and forth lock to lock for a while and everything looks fine. Went for a test drive and there is a very noticable...
