I really need to find a trans filler tube for my 97 TJ with 4.0 and 32RH and can't seem to find one anywhere. Does anyone have an idea where I can find this? I can find the seal and have that in hand but the filler tube itself is what I'm having a hard time finding. Thanks in advance for any...

I must be cheap! I had some left over non-slip “tread tape” that I had used on my deck stairs. Strong adhesive and wrapped around nicely.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I’ll keep the carpet after reading these replies and just deal with the drying process. Noise and heat were definitely concerns of mine. When I owned all the early CJs I was quite a bit younger and noise/ heat weren’t really an issue as they are to me now.

Like mentioned in an earlier post... if you hear it near the bell housing I would deff think flex plate bolts. I had a 32 RH rebuild and the bolts that came with the rebuild kit were just slightly larger. Made a racket similar to yours. Put original bolts back and all A OK!!

Thanks all. I bought removable rubber plugs off Amazon. Flushed the frame rails till clear water came out. Going to check out “Fluid Film” as well. I have a 97 with a very clean undercarriage/ frame and want to do my best to keep it that way. Might try Gorilla tape as well on the smaller holes.

Thanks all. I bought plugs from Amazon. Pressure washed the heck out of the frame till nothing but clear water ran out. At least they’re removable so I can flush from time to time. I’ll also check out “Fluid Film”

So what's everyones thoughts on plugging the frame rail holes? Good idea or bad?

My 97 Sport with 4.0 and 32RH just started making this noise. I just drove home after about a 15 minute drive to Lowes and back and while it was idling in the driveway this noise started. Any thoughts? It does get worse/ louder when increasing RPM's. Prior to this it has been running perfect...

I ran a lead from my battery positive and another to the starter solenoid and attached to a starter switch (push button) that I bought at the auto parts store.
