    Bestop Supertop NX vs Trektop

Be careful about which frame you get if you go with a framed version. I'm not exactly sure which Bestop I have (quite possible for a YJ or Supertop Classic Replacement Skin) but it's barely louder at highway speed than hard top. The pro/con lies in the frame. Mine is not a stock TJ frame but it...

Oil at 80 lbs. on 4.0?

No. Maybe a dribble will come out the port. Some folks on here have used a pipe cleaner to remove sludge or buildup behind the sensor with varying degrees of success. I only swapped out the sensor. A socket designed for a sensor is nice but only worked with my new replacement, go figure.

Thank you. That was one of my first stops and what convinved me to go with ZJ conversion. Thread doens't mention ball joint or other components compatibility beyond tie rod, drag link, end links. I'm 90% pavement but Jersey City has cavass sized pot holes.

In search of piecing together everything I need and the ZJ tie rod & drag link, I found on 1Aauto a TRQ brand kit for a ZJ (I want the ZJ tie rod) for the same price as just the Moog ZK tie rod, this kit includes: (2) Front Lower Ball Joints - Not Spicer (2) Front Sway Bar Links - don't need...

    Refurbishing OEM fog lights

My drivers side bezel really sticks in there. I've now started using plastic bike/e-scooter tire levers to pry it off. Tip, try to spin the bezel a little clockwise and pull from the thinner portion (top) rather than thicker (bottom) of the bezel. It will bend slightly while yanking on it but it...

    Refurbishing OEM fog lights

Did you only remove the headlight bezel? There are 4 more screws behind that attaching the headlight bracket to the grill.

Wow, all great feedback thank you! Both shops showed me (while on the lift) my worn bushings. Control arm bushings (all 4) are cracking. I did a dry steering test on the ground yesterday and there is play in basically everything I could see but the steering box and pitman arm. Track bar will now...

I'm very much at the same point 1 year in but with less DD and more weekend trips. I know I have issues a Steering Stabilizer would "mask" but not cure. It is low on my list knowing there are more critical parts to be addressed first, but it is less expensive. And perhaps I can do SS since it...

Track bar was not included in the assessment maybe it should be? I will have another shop look it over and see if they catch it, strong $4. My original steering stabilizer shows signs of leaking. Updated order: Upper & Lower ball joints (Spicer) ZJ tie rod & draglink Steering stabilizer...

Thank you for the recommendation @RubiconRic Spicer it is, $117 Everything including shocks is OEM except for gas skid and rear frame rust repair I'll have a shop do it all since I don't have the tools, driveway or "spare" bolts...and the last thing holding me back is inexperience.

I have sloppy steering and a hard pull to the right. Went in for a Mavis Discount Tire alignment and the mechanic said it wouldn’t even register on the machine…took it down the road to another shop and on the lift the sway bar end link came apart and both were replaced. Now the fix-it list is...

The Official LED Light Bar Guide

I have not personally heard any whistle on mine but there may be a slight increase in wind noise by or maybe I just haven't turned my radio up as loud lately... My brackets don't allow for different mounting heights but in many YT videos suggest the following treatments: -slightly angled the...

The Official LED Light Bar Guide

@Attomic-tj personal preference but I think straight looks better than curved because of our very flat windshield and the square-ness of the top. Just make sure whatever length bar you get, 50" or 52" to get corresponding brackets for that length. Tip: Use a ratchet strap to pull the brackets...

    License Plate Relocation Idea

Now that I added the hitch cargo basket (moving soon), the spare is staying on for now. The cargo basket was a gift but not what I would have bought. It annoys me so much that I don't have use of the tailgate or rear window, I need like 1/2" more of clearance from the bottom of the spare to the...

Thoughts on Tuffy rear underseat drawer?

If you think about the other end of the Jeep there are some very clever storage ideas under the hood. Especially for tools that you wouldn't need daily. Maybe not quite lockable but definitely discreet. Then you get to keep your instatrunk and rear seat! FWIW: The metal Bestop Instatrunk is...

    License Plate Relocation Idea

@MeanGreen86 Do you have a link to that amazon one? I go back and forth about removing the spare for this exact reason pictured. Do I remove the spare and gain a few valuable inches in overall length to fit into a smaller spot? Or, do I save some body damage from A-holes that park this close by...

How do I remove the center console lock?

You can also swap out the entire console lid (3 screws?) so you don't have to remove and replace the lock? This would only work if you have an existing console of course (not sure if you do).

No heater core = fresh air fan?

I did a heater core bypass out of necessity and plan to replace HC this summer. I get that I've eliminated that part from the climate control system but my question is...before I ignorantly ruin something, can I cause further damage if I spin the dial to hot and turn the fan on? Will it...

Any experience / recommendations for knock off LED headlights

Follow up: Replacement light arrived today from Sunpie - much faster shipping than expected. Have not wired it up to see if it works yet. There are hundreds of knockoff LED headlights out there so if anyone is trying to choose between vendors know that Sunpie has been pretty good with customer...
